Well, I got a surprise call from my dealership last Thursday that my car had finally arrived. (surprised because they were told by Ford on Wednesday that it wouldn't be here until October 30). I don't have my pics developed yet, but I will post the pics the dealership was so good to take of my car arriving at the dealership and being unloaded. I picked it up Friday afternoon (2 1/2 hour drive), and cruised Friday night, Saturday, Saturday night and Sunday. I now have racked up over 500 miles on her.
Let me tell you the car is totally awesome. I actually had been fortunate to see in person the '05 3 times, sit in it once, and rev the engine once -- all after I had already ordered, and none of the ones I saw in person were the color I ordered. I ordered a Sonic Blue Clearcoat Metallic. My husband was totally in awe along with a lot of other people at the color. In the sun, she looks blue, purple, and you can even see the red in her. It's almost like she changes slightly under different lighting conditions.
Ok, enough about the exterior looks. The interior is really classy and soooo comfortable. You can get zoned in to the car real easy. You don't realize your going slow when you're cruising in town because you are so comfortable. But, on the other hand, when you get her out on the road, you could get into serious trouble speeding in this car. 80 mph is no problem -- there is a lot of pedal left. And for those who have seen "Gone in 60 Seconds", you'll know what I'm referring to, it's like she has a 'go baby go' button built into her. She doesn't just take off, she launches!!!!
I'm currently getting about 20 mpg. I drive 45 minutes to work, and have been cruising on my lunch hours, so 20 mpg is pretty good. It's better than my '78 - which, by the way I'm never selling. Nor I'm ever selling this car. They are official stable mates.
The sound system rocks! What a thumpin' sound system. What else can I say? It's easy to operate and delivers the volume and thumpin' you want when you want it. And speaking of sound, the more you drive her, the more her engine and exhaust notes come out. She is getting throatier every run.
Unfortunately it has been raining a lot here, but the car has handled very well. No complaints from me. She corners real well, and brakes real well.
I've had a lot of compliments and questions, thumbs up, etc. Ford really did it right - they took the best of each of the 40 years and rolled it all into one car.
Anyway, here are a couple of pics of my car arriving and being unloaded at the dealership. When I get mine developed, I'll post them.
For those who don't have theirs yet, I know there are some available in Eureka and Paris, Illinois. Hang in there guys! Believe me she is worth the wait!!

Congrats!!
I got to test drive a black V6 at the Auffenberg Ford North dealership in O'Fallon, and I know what you mean when you said "You don't realize your going slow when you're cruising in town because you are so comfortable."
I can't wait to get mine in February. Even though February is a little over 3 months away, it is definitely worth waiting for ^_^

I live in Washington also. I was the guy in the blue explorer Sunday around 4 or 5 that was drooooooling
over your stang on War Memorial near the elmos. There were 3 people in your car and I was so jelous (sp.) not to have mine yet. The color was wonderful. I commented to my wife about how it turned from blue to purple in the light. Who did you buy from. I am looking at going to Mike Murphy in Morton to order my vert soon.

I bought mine down at Mooney Ford in Charleston, Illinois. Awesome dealership and great service. This is the 3rd vehicle we have purchased from Mooney's, although this is the 1st purchase from the Charleston dealership. The price was good (I got mine below MSRP), and the tax rate is lower in Charleston than it is in our area up here.
BTW, the back seat (so I'm told by my hubby and son), is quite comfortable.
Hope to see you around cruising soon!!
