How about some factual information, and nothing fictional, because that is all we know right now is fictional. Ford has not officially released any statements that I know of saying there is any hold. In fact an article I read just yesterday said there were no quality issues affecting any of the 2005 releases. Before you go nitpicking Grantsdale you oughta know the difference between fact and fiction. Show me an article that states it to provide the real info, not dealer speculation, internet rumor etc... etc...

Yea but the V6 manual was a planned delay to ramp up the most popular combinations. V6 manuals are typically the least-ordered combination by dealers.

Got a call from my dealer. He says that they expected mine and 1 other in yesterday but in fact they were held for quality assurance and are cleared. However not physically on a truck they are in line and should be here next week. He also said all the ones held are now getting the all clear.

alright, I'm a believer now, don't shoot me as I did post that I didn't know... however now I see the light. I'm just hoping to get mine before March. I could care less about having it to look pretty in my garage.

Am I the only one that sees what Ford is doing? They are putting 'Stock' orders ahead of 'Retail' orders.

Lighten up grant, not sure when you became the appointed "forum ****" but its getting old.
A simple "search first" comment is enough for the new people, no need to be a jerk.

I agree, the comment toward rags was a little harsh, but if you look at his post history he makes those sorts of posts very often. I will not apologize for the other posts, however, as they were not attacking anyone.

Depends on the dealership. If the dealer put all his orders at priority 10 and the customer orders at 11 and higher, he would get his cars first.
Its not the way its supposed to be done, but with 5000 dealers, you get some that aren't going to do it right.

When BEK intially reported the IUP delay, he had mentioned that there was some communication from Ford that went out to all the dealers.
Could Bek,Kevin or any other dealer member here, please comment if they have received any communication from Ford following that?
I know its been just 1-2 weeks since Ford put a hold on IUP. Would anybody know, how long could it take for ford to resolve the IUP supply issue.

There are at least two, supergenius. The V6 manual is on hold, and as far as we know, the Interior Upgrade Package is on hold.

There is definitely a shortage of the IUP. In fact, we were told this week that there would be no V6 with IUP scheduled. I would imagine they are trying to accommodate the GTs. There is also a restriction on GTs at 30% of production. These are commodity restrictions based on a shortage of parts.
There is also an issue with cars that are already built. Ford has been holding some of these for quality checks. I have not been able to get a definite answer as to why. This hold was originally on GTs only but I was told today that my V6 was also being held.

not attacking anyone... hmm I dunno it sounded like a pretty open ended attack to me. Maybe I did post something that I thought was correct. To correct it is one thing, to just be an hiney about it is another. Typical of most people I've met in Conneticut though... a__holes

Oh, btw, they hate it when you bypass the swear filter. Am I an hiney ? Yes. Thank you for the compliment.

Geez, worst nightmare, V6 manual with IUP.
My dealer: "worst case, February or March delivery. Want to change your order?"
Me: ?????????? .......days go by....???..??..?.... "No, leave it stand as is....."
( I could probably do without the IUP... I'll wait 'til mid November before deciding... )
My order has been in the system since Ford originally pulled 1st set of orders....
Boy, this is a looooonnnnnnggggg wait, I hope my 97 Sunfire 110K miles holds out that long and makes it thru another winter up here.... :bang:
