05 color question
I have also been trying to figure out that question and I don't think either one of those colors will be close. The Mineral Gray would probably be the closest but it looks a little brown in some light. The silver is also to light of a color I think. You may need a custom paint job.
Hopefully someone else may be able to give us some insight into this problem however.

If you are referring to the color of the car in the remake of Gone in 60 Seconds, (which you are almost guaranteed to be) the color closests is Satin Silver, but it is nowhere close. Mineral grey has an earthy tone to it, and black is the color of the le mans stripes, not the car.
Thanks to FrankBullitt05 for providing these photos:

The "Eleanor" from the remake (this one is from the original Gone in 60 Seconds)
A REAL Eleanor.

I think the remake car looks great minus the front clip. I really like Dark Shadow grey and wouldn't be surprised to see it replace mineral grey for 06. The closest you are going to come to Eleanor this model year is Screaming Yellow.
Overly exxagerated on the hate on the remake Eleanor. There are things I dont agree with or like on it but overall it's not a bad car. Its not really rice either. Its a custom mustang which was changed from the original obviously, but not terribly morbiphied. Just tweak it in a half hour and you have a car that fits personal taste.
That car is not bad looking.
I've seen people who changed their opinion from liking it to hating it.

Man, when I came to this forum, Eleanor was my favorite Mustang of all time. It sorta is what inspired me to get the '05, because of the '67 and '68 references in the '05. I was gonna get a black Mustang, tape everything down including racing stripes, and paint it that silver grey color of Eleanor... I mean, the works. But, all this talk about the car has gotten me to see it really ain't all that. Now, that's the last thing on my mind. We gotta stop talking about it. You guys who are really into her, start up your own website or forum- eleanor.com, or whatever. I do have to say to kevin, she is not rice. Nothing asian inspired in that car. It is a great car, but like grant will tell ya... let's not drop the E-bomb anymore, please. It's all this talk that got me not into the car anymore.
Brand new car should + brand new colors!!!!!!!! Or at least a few...........like how about a metallic black!!!! I can't believe Ford isn't bringing back a new grey (or DSG). If only they listened to us every once in awhile

Is that when he bought the car(I heard a rumor it was his car).
If it was 1990..........at least you'd kill him before he made Snake Eyes.
The REAL Eleanor was awesome....that car took a beating, then he jacked the lady at the car wash for a new one.

So the fad caught on at a lesser aspect.
I still remember the first time I saw the 05 Mustang.....it was the Detroit auto show coverage on ESPN. I loved it, first on the clean/fast look. Secondly I liked it because of the resemblence of ...you know who.....and how easy it would be to mod it. However I realized I that I didn't want to own a car that every other kid on his street has. An Eleanor clone. It'll look nice, but it's just not the car for me.
That has been my biggest problem with the older Mustangs is that there was no real way to separate everybody's Stang(excluding Saleen and Cobra). The main outer mod was a whether you had a KoRn, Tool, or a Calvin peeing sticker(every college age 94-98 Mustang owner is blushing right now
)......at least the importers add their own flare or personal touch to their car. Yes their v4 can't keep up, but their car is "theirs". Yes it makes me sick, when a kid gets a base model Civic adds a stereo and puts Altezza lights, and thinks he's somehow faster than any other car on the road. I enjoy style and performance, to me unless you're going the way of "the sleeper" you gotta mod it on the outside, of course if you got 180,000 sleepers....then it's no longer a sleeper.
There is no way I wanted to mod a 05+ into Eleanor, because every other kid that will mod it will try to do that also. How is 1,000 Eleanor clones unique?
Now I've gotta goto the drawing board, and find different ways to mod(besides under the hood).
I guess my overall point is.......if 5 GT's pull up at the mall, what's gonna make your GT stand out and turn heads....I shoulda wrote that instead of ranting all of this mess.
Once again the 2nd generation Eleanor car is not a ricer.....the movie came out before F&F, if I'm correct. So people need to stop throwing the term around not even knowing what it means anymore.
In fact we'll just call them Wedding Guests....people who throw too much rice around.
In fact we'll just call them Wedding Guests....people who throw too much rice around.
The thing that will stand out most in my Stang will be the music I'm blasting. Not many people around me like Iced Earth, and I'd be blasting it until the speakers blow.
But I havn't thought of my exterior mods yet. I'd like to get ram air though, maybe airbrush the mustang symbol on the hood or side of the car, probably in a dark gray like color.
That would actually be a good chop, think someone can handle it?
