carmax used dealerships usually also have a new side. The new side varies and this one is likely a Ford dealership as well.

no there's nothing wrong with carmax, especially when you buy a NEW car from them. Just like any other dealership, except that there is a no haggle price!!!

no, i work there. None of the cars have been wrecked. Most of the prices are reasonable, the salesman dont care how much you spend on a car since they have a set commission. It's a good choice for people that cant always afford brand new cars.

I work there aswell, We carry new chrysler jeep and dodge and we cant keep chrysler 300 in stock. Why? because we have every trim 500 dollars under msrp, and best of all you dont have to haggle to get it.

REALLY? I never knew. COOL.

I thought that was the dealer you took the car you no longer wanted, and they sold it for you.

did you check the link? They are selling it for 182 under msrp! Can't say that for alot of dealers. Most won't budge from msrp. And didn't you post that most of your are going for msrp?

No im a sales consultant for the LAX store, down here in Los Angeles. Carmax Chicago can do special orders on mustangs aswell and you will never see them over msrp. Alot of big name dealerships are becoming intimidated because our philosophy about selling cars is so much different and its working so well with the people that actually come down to the sotre and see it for themselves.

Carmax will definatly become a big name in auto reatailing in the near future. Count on it. Im just waiting for Dodge Charger and Challenger to come out along with 300 convertible. Once they do come out you know where you can get them for under msrp

reason for that is that carmax is a volume seller, they dont care about making 1-8 g's on one car, its absurd.

Regular dealership sees it like this.

Hot car+ Markup+ finance manager gooides = 1-10 sales of that car in a month.

Carmax sees it like this.

Hot car + Great price under msrp = 20-30 of those cars a month
and each sales consultant takes you through the sale process. No finance managers.

Really which one does the consumer benefit from?

Just went online and you can request a quota from Carmax....I will post their response when I get it for everyone to see what kind of value they will offer on a factory order.
