I was on the Sean Hyland website this morning and came across a sound clip for the '05 GT with the new JBA axle-back kit. Not a bad price at $399. They have good looking tips on them, but the mufflers are not polished (like Magnaflow, Bassani, or Borla).

They sound pretty good.

'05 JBA sound clip ::click on the Sound file link in the middle of the page::

Anyone found other clips?

That sounds pretty good, but real ugly mufflers compared to the MagnaFlow.

I liked the sound. Will be interesting to see if their system creates a drone at cruising speed.

Thanks for the link.

I guess I'm in the minority.
I thought it sounded as bad, if not worse, than Flowmasters.
Too raspy, IMO.

Hmm Flowmasters are the best on the 5.0's. I just listened to a bunch of clips from both flowmaster and magnaflow and these 4.6's seriously stink compared to the deep growl of my 5.0. Same as the clip above as it sounds too throaty without the deepness. I guess I'm gonna keep my pipes stock considering what I have heard from these 4.6's

Sounds good, not as loud as I'd like though- I'm dying to hear the Stinger Mufflers by Borla.

The clip with just the axle-back sounded MUCH better than the first clip that was posted - the one I commented on.
In fact, I wonder if it wasn't with H-pipe and headers.
They sounded a lot a like to me.

As for the Flowmasters being the best sound for the 5.0, I agree.
However, we were talking about 4.6's. They're two completely different motors.
With that being said, I'd rather hear my MagnaPacks on my 4.6 than Flowmasters on a 5.0 or a 4.6.
They just sound more refinned to me, instead of sounding like an old farm truck with holes in the muffelers.
But hey that's just my opinion. I know there a lot of people out there who disagree.

It was a nice sound, but not something I would want on my car. I personally am holding out for the Bassani cat back, has a very aggressive sound as well as performace gains and the craftsmanship is excellent.

I'm with you. I don't really like the JBA sound either. B) Raspy is a good way of describing it!

the compession on sound clips is allways bad for low end so might might sound much better in person. I'm a DJ as a hobby and getting good recorded audio is tricky on it's own, but once you compress it for the internet you lose even more.

Where have you heard the Bassani.
I love my current MagnaPacks, but I have issues with their offerings for the '05.

To be truthful I am basing my opinion on the previous mustang catbacks those with and without the catted x-pipe.

Here is a Magnapack Cat-Back on the 05 GT. It s a mono wav file at 275KB. The CD quality is 5 MB and I have no place to store it.

Enjoy.

Hmm i just researched various sounds and compared the 5.0 and 4.6 on a few manufacturers. I've only had the 5.0 so I was basing my opinion purely from that. I can't believe the difference so sorry about stating an opinion that I guess is pretty universal here. That's too bad we can't have the sound of the 5.0's with the 4.6's.

I am looking at Mac Prochamber Exhaust with Flowmaster 2 chamber Delta flows though. http://users.ev1.net/~spreadman/Pages/media.html

I was actually very dissapointed in the sound of my 4.6 when I first bought it. VERY quiet compared to a 5.0. I had two 5.0's before this 03 so I was able to make a real comparison. Not only could I barely hear the exhaust, the trademark 5.0 Mustang sound just wasn't there. I fell in love with the sound once I put on MagnaPacks though.
One good thing about the 05's is they are a lot louder than the 99-04's.
But they'll never sound like a pushrod 5.0.
Those days are gone.
