I Don't Recall Ever Seeing Those Before. Your Style **** Was Only Used on 05-06 Models and Then They Went To a Non Removable Type ****. They Would Have 1 of 3 Functions I Can Think of. A Dust Sheld, A Light Diffuser or To Help ***** Glide a Bit.

I Pulled The Catalog Info and If They Did Have Those They Were Not Serviced Seperately. On a Side Note Those ***** Were Used on F-150'S Etc. So It is Possible The Gaskets Are used on Another Model Which Uses Same ****. Anyhoo My Best Old Partsman Conjecture!

I Had One Of Those Head Units Awhile back But Sold it on Ebay or I Would Have Popped off a **** & Took a Look. I Will Tell You If You Ever Need To Get a Replacement HVAC Control The Later One 07-09 is Supposed To Have Better Vent Flow For Some Reason. Just an FYI!

What is The Story on the Pic??

KC

Yes the Mustang uses those gasket rings. I notice them when I took a few apart. I always thought they where there to let the **** slide easier or to keep dust out as KC mentioned.
