05 06 Mustang Carfax
One day and ran a carfax on every 05 06 Mustang on EBAY. We have had the most wet June on record and there has been some flooding in New England. (and it's still very wet out!)
I found that carfax is marking the reports just because you are registered in a disaster area even if your car was not hit. Doen't seem right jmo.

From a buyer's perspective, I can appreciate that information... but as an owner... that's BULL
! I think they ought to have to substanciate a statement like that with a claim, or something... as opposed to a disclaimer such as "Although most vehicles may not have sustained any damage, CARFAX recommends checking for flood and/or other damage during your pre-purchase inspection." I don't know.. wudduya do?

I don't know but the guy was starting a family and wanting to sell his. I think they should report it only if it really is or isn't. The report will stay with the car forever. that just s ucks

There was an article in C&D a few monthes ago about the vehicle disaster down south. They had cops walking the streets and taking vins of vehicles that had been in the flooded areas. After that I thought that the VINs were registered with Carfax who was allowing consumers to check, fo free, to see if a vehicle that they were purchasing had been water damaged (all of the other stuff still costs money). I don't recall them saying they were doing a blanket type deal, but it doesn't surprise me.
