I just saw an 06 V6 convert today at my gym, unfortionately I didn't have my 05 with me today. Major difference I saw with the 05 and the 06 V6 is the front bumper. The front bumper on the 05's does not have the little groove molding for the license plate, while the 06 does.

I believe the 05 V-6 has the same cut out on the front bumper. It's just the GT's that don't have it.

Sure hope this "blatant advertsing" isn't a sign of things to come. I can see companies paying to have their product recommended on stickers under the hood, in the trunk and who knows where else. I can see it now - if this vehicle is ever driven in Florida - visit Disney World!

YES, That's what my cap looks like. I picked up my 06 GT last week. Also, there is no indication that an electronic tire pressure gauge exists on my car. But...I still remain hopeful. Maybe I should deflate a tire and see if a light goes on. I guess that's the experiment.
That's idiotic. While I'm not big on legalese everywhere (i.e., "do not use hairdrier in shower") you'd think if they were going to print something there they could put something like "do not smoke while fueling" or "DO NOT OVERFILL". At lease those would be partially useful for somebody.

On the other hand - if an unobtrusive ad like this helps to defer the costs associated with the car, guess it isn't that bad a thing.

Because we all know Ford passes the savings on to the consumer.

Right? Right? Bueller?

At least the BP sticker is hidden from view.

Spend a few bucks on the locking gas cap, and it's a non-issue anyway.

I'd much rather have that BP cap than the stupid stickers and badges dealers some dealers put on all their cars.

The only real issue I have with the BP sticker is that IMO some customers will think that BP gas will make the car run better.

Well, I think I know how to tell the difference, but it's not by looking at the car. As most of the 05 owners (myself included) have had the car for a while, their smile on their face won't be quite as big as the 06 owners who will have one permanently tatooed to the face! : )

Exactly! There are alot of people that want research and read the gobbelity gook and think they can't run anything but BP gas.

IIRC, BP was one of the only big name gas companies that wasn't on that "best of the best" list posted a while back.

I assume the Canadian cars won't get these gas caps...seeing as how we don't have BP stations up here.

Go Canada hehehe

Does your owner's manual mention it anywhere? It would be interesting to find out.

What's next, a commercial in the message center upon start-up?

"This turn over brought to you by Mobil1. Ford recommends Mobil oil for the maintenance and longevity of your engine."

I am sure BP is paying Ford to put their name and logo on every cap. If Ford only wanted to convey the importance of Upper Tier Gasolines, then they could have said so right on the cap.

I don't think there's even a BP or Amoco in Texas.

Could this foreshadow people with '06s wanting '05 gas caps? A model year downgrade mod?

There is a Chevron on N. Beach and Western Center that was a BP for about 6 months last year.
