04 cobra or 05 GT?

What would you rather get? A 2004 mustang cobra coupe, yellow, with 6700 miles from the ford b lot, or a 2005 gt? the mustang cobra is going for 26000 and thats about the same i would be paying for a fully loaded 05 gt. What are your opinions? :bang:

my opinion is well im gettin an 05 and its the biggest change in the mustang ever and i instantly fell in love with it but the cobra is more powerful. u can work very well with the new GT's 300hp. then again soo can u with the cobra's 390 if its that. but its what u think fits u best. take a test drive both. ill be takin an 05 drive in about a month and im gonna take a cobra one too for the heck of it. study up and choose wisely

Why do you care what we'd rather get? Aren't you really trying to decide for yourself?
More people would get the Honda. Does that help? I thought not.

I felt the same urge. Sometimes you need others to reaffirm your initial decision, which in this case is to go for the 05.
For those of us who loved the last gen, the chance of owning a 03/04 Cobra is hard to comprehend. All that power and performance. But inside our gut we know we like the 05 styling better and the fact that its a brand new car that has tons of advantages over the outgoing model that will make it more enjoyable.
I saw an 04 Azure Blue Mach 1 the other night at a car show......man, it was gorgeous. I wish I could just break down and buy one. Throw an 05 next to it and that feeling would probably quickly disappear.
If you really like the Cobra, wait till the 05 hits the lots and test drive both....then make a decision.

Personally I would take the 04 cobra just to many options with the forged bottom end as far as power goes. Also the wheel/tire combo looks great. It really depends on what your looking for though. I love the thought of being able to make 600rwhp by simply throwing a different supercharger on top. And still being able to drive it anywhere you want to. Although I also like the thought of having a totally newly designed chassis.

Well the Cobra is definately a monster power-wise over the 05. Its actually about 420 hp and mods EASILLY to 600+hp. It will be a bit heavy and crude compared to an 05, but you wont have to worry about loosing to one at a light, thats for sure. It suffers from all the Fox issues, short wheelbase, tight interior with poor shifter position, and a very simple interior. If you are a power nut, the 04 has MUCH more potential to offer, there is no car that is easier to mod and has a more robust stock motor. If you just plan to cruise one with a little bit of gettin on it, then the 05 will be much more comfortable to drive daily.

thanx for your opinions, by the way im only 18 and the insurence even tho in my dads name would be around 3000 a year. im pretty sure im goin with the 05 but the yellow cobra i saw today was crazy.
