I would just upgrade to whole car. Bang for the buck man. I bought a pristine 600 hp cobra for under $25k. Just makes sense unless you like torturing yourself.

I love this car. Its not going anywhere... I'm building an engine, trans, and rear different for it. Also redoing the entire suspension and paint. My car, my call. I want to make it a bad S.O.B. one reason I love this car is the body style and color. I don't want a new edge. Everyone has one. I want my bodystyle

Ok Bone. Build away. Stay 4.6. Just easier. Alluminator and a big whipple should make plenty enough power.

Because its already a 4.6 and would take less parts. You can get the same power out of it for cheaper.

I don't think they are. I'm pretty sure everything else won't transfer over either. 4.6-5.4 is not my expertise though. Easier build going with the alluminator long block in my opinion. You're not machinist Bone. Building a block to handle 800 hp is not something I would tackle myself either. But it's your time and money so it's on you man.

I heard 4.6 and 5.4 are the same blocks too.

Bone, it's your car you put whatever you want in it and make her fast! I'm on the same note with not wanting a different car. I love my car as well. I was considering a new 5.0 coyote swap in mine.

Building up a 5.4 would be great. Then again I want to see a 5.8 in our little cars.

From what I'm reading the difference in the 5.4 and. 4.6 is the crank throw and bore size. The heads, waterpump, intake, oil cooler and all should swap right over to it. Hence the whole purpose of "modular" motors.

I think the biggest thing you would have to do is modify the intake. Also the deck height is bigger so some sort of cowl hood or scoop would probably be in order. I say go for, Ive thought about doing the same thing myself. It would be a very cool swap.

You could always go with the 00 Cobra R hood. But a 600-800 hp stock looking Mustang would would be sweeeeeettttt.
