Thinking of buying a new GT

My buddy has a friend looking to buy my car (apparently for $10k), which is a 2003 red GT with ~95k miles on it and in pretty good shape. So with that in mind, I decided to start looking around for another 'Stang, same model. I happened upon two that are relatively near me, same price, same color, mods done on both, and I can't really decide between the two.

2004 40th Anniv GT
2003 GT

The first car has more miles, though not by a whole lot, and the thing that really is swaying me is the tilting headrests. My car has the dinky little vertical-only headrests that are just kind of pointless, and I don't really want to deal with those again if I get another 'Stang (I'll have to ask the second guy about his again). I could probably negotiate the price with him a bit.

I've talked to the guy who owns the second car before and I know I can get him down to about $8k if he keeps the Cobra rims, which I don't honestly care too much for so it's whatever to me. He's had the ad up since the end of last year so I'm thinking he's just ready to get rid of it and get his money. The low mileage and the fact that it's black reeled me in to that one. All those mods are pretty nice, too.

On one hand, I could potentially never have to deal with those **** 2-way headrests again, but on the other I could have a car with some 15k miles less and a lot more mods, though mods aren't too important to me at the moment.

What do you guys think?

The 03 seems like a much better deal to me. Thats the one I would go with.

It does, but gah, I really want those tilting headrests...

I noticed on the '04 that the 40th badge is facing the wrong way. Should I be wary of that?

Would it be a big issue to just swap them out. I don't know anything about them, but I can't imagine the seats are different, just the headrests. But I truly don't know.

Oh, absolutely not a big issue to swap. The only problem is they're extremely hard to come by. Ford no longer makes them as far as I know, and I've only come across one set through all of my searching on the internet for about two years now, and they were sold by the time I got to them.

Otherwise I'd have probably gotten them in my car already. Haha.

Think I might get in contact with the '03 soon. I'm starting to like all those mods. Saves me the money of buying them myself.

Fair enough. I still would go with the 03. Of course the headrests wouldnt be a big deal to me. I never even notice I have any.

I would above all check and make sure they the owners didn't run the car into the ground engine wise.
