Bide my time till September.

I rented it, WAY too small, and not what I need. I was lured by a sweet sounding motor and the orange, but After spending the day in it today, I can't do it.
Gonna wait for the 05, and that means I am doomed to a v6, but at least I get my color and a manual.(Black or green if you are curious).

Well, you did the right thing by renting one and seeing how well you like it. Just think now, how much happier you'll be when you get that 05 though!

Yea, that was smart. I've gotta do that with my first car.

BTW how much is Hertz rent-a-car??????

I'm sure it's priced by the miles and all, but is there a flat rate.

I think it was $179 or $279 for a week? My husband rented it for me so I don't know. Best thing I could have done, now I am not stuck with something I can't deal with. I plan the same trick with the 05.
Check out hertz.com Mustang is a standard car.

What's going to be bad is the Month of September- Imagine they will be giving the leftovers away by then. Just in time to charge a nice no wiggle room premium for the lovelies. Its gonna make me sad all over again. I bet you can get one for a little bit of nothing. Tenth Graders all over alabammy will be thrilled.

NO NO NO!

Regardless of the deal you might make in September, do not succumb to the siren song of low prices on the leftovers. You know how much you want a 2005, and whether it's a 6 or an 8, it'll be a vastly superior car to what we're driving now.

Better looking, much safer, better handling, higher build quality, etc.

So you save a few bucks on the dying model. How's that going to make you feel when you see a new next gen Mustang next to yours?

But the 2005 isn't going to be much bigger than the current car is. They're Mustangs, after all.

Ah. It's your call.

The front seating space on the 05 sounds like it is much improved over the 04s but the backseat is still up in the air. The seats look like they sink down a little to make up for the lower "fastback like" roofline but I still think there is little, if any, room for your knees!!!

That is true. The new car will have slightly more room, but it is STILL a two door car with an almost non-existent back seat. My kids fit mostly okay back there. But, I'd never use it as a daily hauler for the kids.

I was using my mustang as a daily driver for hauling the kid for a year until we had to get something bigger.

During the 2 1/2 years I've owned my Mustang, I've only had people in the back seat once, and they were 11 year old boys. They fit fine, but I wouldn't use my car as a daily people hauler, unless there were just two of us.

I doubt that very many of us bought our cars because they were practicable. It's the fun factor.

I was thinking about installing a 'rear seat delete' in my car, but I think I'm going to keep the seats. Hopefully when I have a little one I can have a 'baby seat' in the back for him/her. You know . . to drive him/her around to get him/her to sleep at night.

Word of Warning, you'll have to move the passenger seat WAY up to get a baby seat back. Especially the new-born ones!
