I was thinking about getting stripes on my car but the hood scoop has me doubting if it would look good. Does anyone have stripes besides the 04GT 40th special edition model?? Pictures would help make the decision, thanks!

I hope these help:

I think silver on redfire will look awesome on your car. :nice:

I've seen the Roush ones but the scoops (like the silver picture) seem to limit what you can do. Thanks for the pictures. I would like to see the top of the scoop a little more.

Any opinions on how people might think it looks??

Found these pics over at bobwhitedecals.com...they might have what you're looking for.

If I get it done it would be painted on. Not too sure if I'm digging that width stripe. Thanks again for the pictures, it helps.

your car with black stripes that are wide like the first picture would be cool, but your wheels would clash with stripes i think

Chris, is that your car?? That is exactly what I was looking for. What is the width on those?

Where did you get your K&N Intake? Which model is it?

Fordracing200 7/4/05 07:54 PM

That is Chris's car, he had a thread awhile back that gave all the specs on his stripes

Where did you get that silver gt pic? That's my friend Paul who put the stripes on my car. He now has black deep dish bullits on. I'll post some pics of his in a min. I have the black stripes but I don't have the hood scoop just yet, I think i'm going to just paint it a glossy black.

Hey John,
Honestly, although I love stripes, I think the torch red looks great as it is. The Mach 1 chin spoiler really set it off nicely, but I don't know about stripes. I think I would stick with it as is. I think stripes would just kind of clash. Just my .02 :nice:

Another option that I have yet to see on another color, and have only seen on one other yellow, is to follow the contours of the hood, as my pictures show.

You could use black to match the chin spoiler and perhaps paint your rear wing black as well. (I had the Mach chin spoiler for a while, but thing kept working its way loose so I took it off, looked really good IMO with the black on the hood.)
Just a suggestion, haven't seen any other mustangs with the same "stripe" as mine, besides one, so you'll be unique.

Also, the black goes under the hood scoop on mine, which is why I included the overhead picture.

Now those stripes are good looking. The look a lot like the 2000 Spring edition Mustangs. I did like those... can't believe I didn't think about that. Darn brain :-D

why thank you, thank you very much.

Not sure if I came up with the idea on my own or if I had seen them on a car before I decided to do it, had the idea before I got the car.

when I started thinking about going through with it I decided to see if there were any other ideas I liked out there and ran across stripes that are close to the ones I got at www.graphic-express.com, but none of them wrap around the back of the hood or go all the way to the front of the hood. Don't know why they didn't go all the way to the grill, but whatever, mine are better. Yea me!

Any suggestions on striping an 04 Cobra?

Fordracing200 7/7/05 03:34 PM

Yeah, dont do it :D

I think tasteful stripes add a lot to any car, whether it's a GT or a Cobra. I love the pic of the black one with gold stripes.

sorry I hadnt checked the post in a bit. The stripes are 8" and you put 1" between them. Here is what you need. the ebay site is where i got stripes from. the install is a little rough. just give yourself some time to work out all the air bubbles. I got my K&N from a speed shop my Dad delivers to so it was at a 30% discount. The model is

Product Numer 57-2519-3
Product Specifications
Product Style: FIPK
Estimated Horsepower Gain: 10.07 HP @ 4945 RPM
Type: Gen II

Stripes came from here.

K&N Picture installed. I have it going into a BBK 70 MM Throttle Body now, so the air flow is much greater.
