shifter prob...

I have a problem and have no clue how to fix it! I have a 95 GT Automatic. When I go to put it in gear I have that button to press. It is kind of stuck! About every 12th time it works fine. Those other 11 times suck. If I press it hard, it goes in. I was wondering if this has happened to someone else’s car. How do I correct it? I am thinking I will need to take the shifter off itself. I tried different Allen's to undo it. It is not working though. This is all I knew to do. Any advice? Thanks in advance!!

I had a similar problem on my 01 with the aluminum UPR **** I put on it. The button in the ball would stick. I took it off and lubed it and all is well. Do you still have the stock one on it? To take my stock one off mine had one set screw on the front of it to loosen. It took some forceful pulling on it with a little bit of back and forth twisting to pull it off.
