I am looking into getting a 2004 competition orange mach 1. My only concern are the black racing stripes on the hood and on the sides of the car. I've never been a big fan of stickers on cars. Has anyone with a mach 1 ever had problems with the racing stripes coming off? I had thought of getting them professionally removed, but then the paint around the stripes would probably look faded. If anyone has had this done, did it look alright? I'll most likely leave them on because I've never heard anyone complain about them coming off, but I just wanted to double check. Thanks for the input.

If you are worried. (remember the 85 86 GT hood decal) Have them pulled and have replicas painted on in black. I would use gloss black, but you could use the dull black so it looks like a decal.

No problems really, the stripes on the Mach 1's were sealed with a heat lamp at the factory. Mine are sealed up good.

Some people have had problems, but many on the Mach 1 Registry have not reported issues with them. Mine are fine as well.

Never had a problem with the stripes. My car is over 2 years old with 25,000 miles and a daily driver, through rain, snow, ice, mud, sleet, you name it.
