No you will not need a tune. My cobra ran for 3 yrs on an off road x-pipe and mil-eliminators with factory tune.

Thanks, I was looking around on the internet of times where the car ran rich or lean after they installed the o/r mid pipe... But thought it couldnt be because the exhaust has nothing to do with that?

btw i saw that video of you hitting 160 in your car
How was that?!

Ppl say they run rich and lean and thats only because they dont know how new cars work. I invite anyone to pm me if they disagree with me . On old carburated vehicles you could cause a slight lean condition but on newer cars with pcms and o2 sensors (for ppl that dont know 02 sensors and maf sensors are what control a/f ratio) they are able to adjust a/f automatically. Same goes for the. "You need a tune for a cai" myth.

And that was on a hot day with intake temps in excess of 117 degrees, its much cooler here now and i hit 160 much easier. I can actually push 170

Figured the maf and o2's would regulate and adjust as needed..

I recommend using some swivel sockets. Some of the bolts can be a PITA. Depending on your mileage your exhaust bolts might me pretty rusted up. I would hit them with some pb blaster (not wd40) an hour or two before you try and break them loose

when i disconnected the old catback from the h pipe they were a PITA. they came off, but they were tough.
Another question... are the bolts that connect from the stock headers to the top of the mid pipe hard to get to?

Those are the ones that i am recommending swivel sockets for. You cant get them without them. You can get a universal swivel at oriellies for pretty cheap. And i use an impact. I dont do it by hand. Makes it much easier.

I do lol. They are a 15mm. You might need a deep socket. Some mustangs have long studs on them. Mind did

I use a deep socket and a shallow socket on a universal swivel. 1or2 of the studs are easier to get with a shallow socket. And I use a two post lift so its really easy for me lol. I've never had to do it on the ground.

Then yes. Would be easy. Don't flip out if you break a stud. But if you use the pb blaster you shouldn't.

Alright posted this on another one of my threads thought i should post it on this one to since it was realtive

Alright the h pipe came in today..

lifted my car, thinking this was going to be an easy upgrade WRONG

sprayed the bolts with some wd40 and let it sit for an hour or so, got the deep swivel socket (15mm) got to the bolts and for the life of me couldn't get them off!! No matter how hard i tried they wouldn't budge!!! The fit was snug on the 15mm swivel socket and it wasn't bent at any weird angles....

My question is: What do I do know? I obviously cant have a shop do it for me, because they wont. And i cannot get them loose!!

any tips, pointers or advice would be really appreciated...

I am just at a complete lost.

Wd40= no no... use pb blaster. Also preferably use an impact. If you can't, get a cheater pipe or a longer handled wrench.

where does one go about to get said pb blaster?
I have an impact wrench, no gun.
And does it matter what angle you have the swivel socket at? like is it okay to be at 90 degrees on the actual socket?
