New wheels, old ones gotta go

So I just talked the wife into letting me order some new wheels. I got the 18x9 and 18x10 chrome saleens. Wont be here for another week or so though. So I need to sell these old wheels. I'm gonna put them on Craigslist. 17x8 premium gt wheels. Bf Goodrich tires more than 60 percent tread left. Very little curb rash on one wheel. Couple small rust spots on 2 of them. I was gonna ask 400 for the wheels and tires together. I think they are also the same wheels that came in 99-01 cobra. You guys think 400 is reasonable? Too low? Too high?

Worth more eh? That is good. Maybe I will list them for 500 OBO and see what kind of action I get on them. I can't wait for the wheels to get here either man. I'm super stoked.

Id say 500 OBO, but I think 400 is a reasonable price and what I would expect from them.

I think you guys are right. I will advertise them at 500 OBO but I will let them go for 400. If I start at 4 people will be trying to work me down to 350 and 300. I can't wait to get the wheels in either. Americanmuscle hasn't shipped them yet. I ordered Friday but I guess when you get the wheel and tire package it takes them 2-3 days to mount and balance then get them out the door. The other bummer is I'm on the west coast so I'm not likely to see them this week.

Honestly, 350 is about the best I've seen stock GT rims go for. Maybe in different places they are worth more, but here you wouldn't get any calls asking 500 bucks.

Thanks man that is good info too. At least Craigslist is free to list so I can start them a bit higher and if no one is interested I can just drop the price after a while.

Well my wheels showed up the other day and I put them on last night. I didn't get the immediate WOW factor but now that I'm getting used to seeing them I'm liking them more and more. I got the old ones on craigslist today. I have them listed at 450. I got a guy emailing me about them. He wanted to know the backspacing and offset but I had no real answer for him. I told him i didn't know. It turns out the old ones are the same wheel that was on the 99-01 cobra minus the SVT center cap.

Hey man just as a thought, check the rotation direction on your rear tires. They look to be going the wrong way. Compare the front and rear tread design if you notice they are going two different ways.

Other than that, those wheels look great on that car!!

order a set of lowering springs to fix that 4x4 look.

it just looks like you need to swap the rears to the opposite side.

Ya know, in the pics with the stock rims it looked lowered then in the last pic with the new rims I wasn't sure. It must be the lower profile tires, either way it looks good. I love Sonic Blue.

Yeah I noticed it looked higher 2 when I put the wheels on. I was like come on man I already lowered the car. Oh and... Yup they're on the wrong side. I guess in my Christmas morning fury of opening the boxes when the ups man came and trying to slap them on the car I fudged that up. Good catch man. Thanks. Guess I'll fix it tommorow. Too tired tonight and it's not my daily driver.

the right rear is definitely the wrong direction!

Those Saleen's look spectacular! Without doubt, that's the next major mod for my Sonic Blue Stang.
