your 02 GT tranny can take 540rwhp or so safely, but after that it wont last much longer

The Tremec T-56 is your best bet IMO for durability. The 03 cobra crate motor is a good choice. Dont get upset, i just got back, but if i were here eariler i would of helped. The 99 and 00 Cobra motors are cheaper, but if you want more than 450hp or so u cant do anything with them because they are not as strong as the 03 cobra motor. 12k dollars for the 03 cobra motor. the T-56 is 2k dollars or so. You are better off selling the GT for a Cobra IMO

Ford Racing Parts offer a variety of crate engines at reasonable prices. Most economical with better performance would be to buy a block or use your existing one and build it to your specifications with performance parts preferably using forged internals.

You might want to be a little more descriptive with the title of your thread if you are expecting alot of replies. To title it "need some info" really gives no indication of what you are looking for and people may tend to look right over it. B)

its a mustang forum, just not really a technical one. try modulardepot.com for more tech stuff.

I agree with Kevin on VT Engines. They build great motors!!

Also you arent going to find many crate motors for a late model car as the 4.6 is pretty much it. You are limited to putting in a cobra, mach1, cammer or a built motor. You can do a navigator DOHC 5.4 swap, but it'd be cheaper adn easier to go with a built one more than likely.
