Keep '02 GT Vert or Sell and get '01 Cobra Vert
I currently have an '02 True Blue GT Vert. w/31,500 miles, Magnaflow Catted X/Magnapacks, '03 Chrome Cobra Rims, and K&N FIPK II CAI. I was wondering if it would be wise to sell the GT and purchase an '01 Stock Cobra Vert with about 21,000 miles for $20,000.00? I already was told by the proposed buyer of my car that he would buy my GT for $20,000.00 including the remaining 6yr/72K warranty. My ultimate plan is to get a '05+ SE Vert in the future. My question is would the '01 Cobra Vert. have a better resale value than the '02 GT or should I just keep the GT?
I'd guess that the Cobra vert, if you can buy it for about the same as the selling price of your car, would have a higher resale value. Depreciation is the reason. Most cars take their biggest hits in the first three years, so a 2001 won't drop as much in value as your 2002. They'll both drop in value, but the older one should less as a percentage of purchase price.
Don't get all hung up on the Cobra name. These are still mass produced cars and as such are still governed by the law of supply and demand, and things such as Kelly Blue Book values.
Before I can really answer your question, I'd want to know how much you're going to have to shell out for the Cobra. Then it would be a fairly easy math problem.
Hope this helps a little.

If someone is offering you $20K for your car, TAKE IT! Buy a beater until the 05 'vert comes out.

It would give the opportunity to experience the Cobra. Perhaps it might even persuade you to wait for the '07 Cobra, which chances are it will.
