Intake question...
Intake question...
I want to know how much it'll be total for this setup, or if it'll even work...
I want to get a get intake manifold, throttle body, add a shaker system, and a new CAI.
I'm wondering if anyone has does this, has any suggestions, or a site that has a nice combo pack for it all.

What intake? I don't think there are any 4.6L intakes under 800, a nice t/b is around 300 or so, factor in another 800 for the shaker, and thats almost 2K
what CAI is ther that works with the shaker btw? and what intake? .
After market intakes shouldnt be hard to fab CAI for, but i dont know if the shaker kits will work with the CAI (it will probably still work with the new manifold though)
Either way, new intakes and shaker kits arent cheap

they have a few more on there as well for descent prices...
Plus, I can get a 10% discount b/c I know someone in the parts department at a FR dealer.

yeah it can be done. I was looking for a new shortblock for my car cause i think mine needs a major overhaul but then i found this for not much more.. So i am really set on doing the swap.
But the 2005 3v engine weighs less then the 2v engine due to lighter weight cylinder heads and aluminum block. that engine is actually a iron block but will still be slightly lighter. and 40hp(list prob more like 60hp) extra out of the box.
I can only imagine.

Chris, if you get a 3v in your car you'll be my hero
And Pat, you do realize the link you showed me is the stock 99-04 GT intake right? There wouldn't really be a performance improvement...
The one Chris posted is different, it's metal, and not a stock Ford piece

Thanks, thats really the whole reason i wanted to do it.
actually thats the one that came stock on the 01-04, the 99-00 didn't have the aluminum crossovers.
I read an article and by changin out the short block to a 5.4 and keeping everything else stock the engine did 300hp even. So a 40hp gain by bumping .8L so if you do a 5.0 stroker you should get 20hp increase right off the bat. and freeing up the intake and exhaust will also give you larger gains then a 4.6L.
I think this is a good one. http://www.seanhylandmotorsport.com/...cda16e0bcbf731
not cheap to do though...but it does give you forged internals.

So it is an improvment for us chris!
