I have a friend that wants to install a 5-point in a n 01 Mustang but doesn't want to cut or weld because he will be selling the car in the next six months or so. Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks,

Nat

Hey Nat, I moved this out of the Q&A section with Scott Hoag to try and get you some more answers.

I honestly think he may have to weld braces into the floor for the harness's, but they may make a kit that bolts to the 4 bolts that hold the seat down. Check http://www.summitracing.com and they may be able to point you in the right area.

A harness of any type should be bolted to a cage, or the frame of the car in my opinion. There is no way in heck I would want a harness utilizing the seat bolts, as they could rip out under extreme conditions. Take your rear seat bolts out and see how much metal they are actually screwed into, not much. At least the factory belt bolts are screwed into what appears to be slightly re-enforced places.
