I am not new to this site, but this is my first post. I have a 95 GT. I have had a smog pump eliminator installed to it. I now have my AIR BAG, ANTI LOCK BRAKE, and CHECK ENGINE light on. I took it to my nearest dealership top have it hooked up to a computer. Well, they said it was all because of my smog pump elimin. I could tell they were kind of upset about it, too. I have no clue what to do now. Oh yeah, I have a traumatic brain injury so I have lost all memories of how to fix it! I thought one of you might know though. Thanks!! I am just hoping I remember where I posted this so I will check back!!

 

You will probably need a chip or something to turn off the emissions in your car. Im not familiar enough with the ECU functions on the 95 though to know if that will take care of that problem or not. I'll see if i cant find an answer for you though.

 

I could understand a check engine light but the airbag and ABS light are not related to your smog pump eliminator...you have other issues going on there somewhere. Try going to your local Advance, Autozone or pep boys and ask them to put a scanner on your car...this is free and should give you the trouble codes for your problems.

I will take it to O'Reilly's, nearest to me, to have it scanned. The guys working the service desk is who relayed the problem to me. He wanted me to put my smog pump on there right away. I messed up and told I was not going to right off. I should have said, sorry, now how can I fix it? The guy was not to happy with me. I just do not have a clue what to do with it. I have all my work done to it as it is now.

Oh, I thought the same about my air bag and ABS light being on, too! I did not have a clue when he told me though. Thanks again!!

You may have disconnected the abs module at the front of the car? Did you disconnect the steering column from the rack and pinion? If so then check the horn and see if it blows, if not then your clock spring has an open circuit in it and will need to be replaced.

The smog pump has absolutly nothing to do with the engine managment system though and wont turn the CEL light on. Go somewhere besides the dealer and find out what the codes are and post them or email them to me. BamaChips@gmail.com

check your fuses also. definitely dont see how the smog pump would trip an abs and airbag light. i dont know how different the 95 computer is from the 92. but i didnt get a check light when i removed my smog pump. and the auto zone around my area said they only have equipment to scan 96 and new cars

 

My horn honks. I guess check the fuses under my hood, maybe. I have not made it to an auto parts store yet to have it scanned. Thanks a lot!!

 

All of my fuses under my hood were hot. I then went to under my dash. The first one I checked was dead. I am going to go buy some fuses and replace them hopefully tomorrow. Thanks for your help with my car!!
