HP Estimate
I am not too familiar with the SN95 Mustangs (I have an 05), but my dad just purchased one...and has started modifications. I was wandering if anyone could give me a good estimate of a HP rating with the mods he has.
He has: BBK Cold Air Induction, BBK Throttle Body, BBK Intake Plenum, BBK Underdrive Pulleys, Pypes Exhaust, and a DiabloSport tuner.
Thanks.

Yeah, the year's important.
I believe the 94 & 95 5.0s were rated at 215 hp, as were the 96 & 97 4.6. The 98 got a bump to 225 hp, and from 99-04, with better heads, the 4.6 was rated at 260 hp.
With the mods your dad has, he could be seeing a significant power increase (maybe 30 hp), depending on what exhaust mods and tune he has.

Well from the BBK upper plenum comment, I'm guessing its a 4.6... which year is defintely a big question as far as HP.
I'd say all of those combined, Dan is close in his 30hp claim. You'd probably see 20-25rwhp gain on the dyno.

Well, figure 6-10 hp for the intake stuff, 5 hp for the pulleys, 4 or 5 hp for the exhaust(assuming its a cat-back), and 10-15 hp with a good high octane tune. I think the 99-04 put about 215hp to the wheels in stock form, so youre seeing somewhere between 235 and 245 rwhp. Pretty good!

well tranny will play apart in the numbers. For a 5-speed, consider then about 225rwhp stock and for an auto around 210-215rwhp stock. The mods will add about the same either way, but with a good tune, an auto will pick up more time at the track since the shift points and firmness will be much better over stock.
