How Many ponies?
#1
Ok i just recently made a post about my thoughts of installing a shaker scoop on my '02 GT. My question is how much horse power (ponies) will i actually get from the scoop. Right now im at 260 and i was reading about the mach1'a and they get about 300. Is this accurate?

The general consensus is the scoop itself doesn't add much, except at speeds at or around 80MPH and above.
The engine differenced are what makes the HP more between a Mach and GT, not the scoop itself.

it is said that a good functional scoop will give you about 1 psi of boost at around 60-70, and maybe reach 2 psi later in the 100 mph range. Not much, but its something.

I agree with pretty much what everyone has said in this. You wont make much HP off of it unless you are at 100+mph. Even then it is minimal to like 3-4rwhp if I had my guess. You wont ever really know since on a dyno, you'll never simulate 100mph airflow.
