I was goin down i-75 yesterday for my monthly coffee run and saw what at first i thought was a V6 Stang.

It was a redfire GT with a v6 back bumper..not this wouldn't have struck me as aodd if it had side exhaust but it didn't it had what looked like standard GT exhaust. It sounded like my car and had every GT part except the rear bumper.

My question to you guys is did they make a 99+ gt with a v6 bumper from the factory?

No, they never did. It sounds like a V6 with duals under the bumper and a GT badge, or a GT with a replaced bumper.

well for a v6 it sounded exactly like my gt and pulled away from me like a v8.
I'd go with the v8 with a v6 bumper

it ws just odd and kinda confusing..oh well

ive seen that on a couple cars here in VA. the guys said they didnt like the cut outs for the exhaust pipes b/c you can see the pipes. so the put on the V6 bumper and drop the pipes down a bit so you can see them like on the LX5.0's

I'm sorry you had to phrase your answer in the form of a question.

Seriously though, I thought some of the 99+ had single cutouts....so which years didn't....01+?

That's why I'm glad Ford is deciding to make the v6 and v8 have different exterior features, so problems like this don't baffle you for days.

the V6's dont have cutouts any year 99-04. they have a single tail pipe. where the gt has a cutout on each side for the tail pipe to fit

The pre-production 1999 V-6s had a single exhaust cutout.

This is what I was thinking...maybe it was in a phase of transition into a ROUSH. Who knows?
