My 2000 gt has a coolant leak I found a puddle just in the middle of the block and it seems that leak come from the thermostat housing, do I need a new intake or just a gasket replacement?

If you can't see anything at all with the intake like a crack or anything then just a gasket. But check for cracks to make sure before just get a new gasket

Is pull the intake off and check it thoroughly for cracks. Plastic intake manifolds on these are horrible for cracking. Oil seem clean?

I had an intake crack on my 96 and it leaked antifreeze into a few cylinders. Luckily it was just after completing the project and I was keeping a very close eye on everything. Instead of gettin a new plastic one I went with a typhoon from am. I would still pull it off and look for even slight cracks, and check my intake gaskets just to be on the safe side. It's easy an well worth the small amount of time to be 100 percent sure its just the o ring.

I am having a water loss in the deposit but weird stuff every time I refill it water always go back to same level (to the bottom of water deposit) the water doesn’t go further than that level. I haven’t had any problem with engine temperature I have been monitoring very close. I won’t suggest anything until remove the intake and make sure is has no cracks

Be thorough when checkin it. Only takes a slight crack in those or a slight break in a gasket to leak an they do crack often. I did a pi swap an put the typhoon intake on to avoid plastic intakes. I haven't found any aluminum non pi intakes yet but haven't looked to hard for one. Keep me updated and let me kno what you find!

I have a spare motor that I'm just gonna take one off of.. Intake is super easy to pull off.. If you can turn a couple bolts you might wanna do it yourself to save a good bit of money.. I looked on eBay last night an there was one on the that ends tomorrow(i think) and it was only 41 bucks an maybe 20 for shipping.. Looked really clean w only 40k miles on it..

Intake is a really easy job. Pull throttle body an plenum then fuel rails an unbolt it. All you need is a 8 10 an 12mm socket. Most of those intakes on am are pi intakes if I'm not mistaken. Id find aluminum if possible because I recently replaced a plastic one with another an bout 2 months later one of the metal rings the fuel rails bolt into wiggled out somehow an unseated some Injectors. If your goin for just a quick cheap fix for now then is hit eBay or a junk yard up before I bought a new plastic intake

I will remove the intake today... I still have the hope for a gasket replacement due the leak is not a mess it just leaks when water deposit is full.

I will keep you guys posted I I’ll try to post for some pics

Nothing yet. Hard work all this week, the car stops leaks when water level is in the bottom of the water deposit. Next week I will be out of the city so the stang will be waiting until I return. I will keep you posted
