Im pretty sure it will mount up to a 2V. There is probably a few things to make it work. But you would probably want to do a PI swap if you havent already because the 96-98 heads pretty much suck.

96-98 2v or 4v?

4v yes, but you need change timing cover i beleive, and obviously all the top end of the M112, lower, heat exchanger and stuff.

2v you'd have to use the torq tech kit. but you might need PI heads...

Also both would need some fuel upgrades and stuff.

Need PI heads and the tork tech kit. Cheaper and easier to find a used vortech kit and you will make more power anyway but you need to make sure to get a fuel managment system with the vortech kit

The only vortechs I've seen for same r for 5.0s and could I run a vortech on stock internals safely at low boost?

I remember seeing the same question in a Muscle Mustangs magazine and I think the editor responded by saying an aftermarket blower would be easier to install and more efficient than the 03-04 Blower which is kinda dated technology... twin screw is the way to go if you haven't already bought the eaton 112.

I am running a vortech kit at 13.5 psi right now making 427rwhp. 503 bhp. Stock internals and all the supporting mods. It is safe as lon as you have a good tune. I have seen several vortech kits on 96-98 and the booklet with my kit has instructions for the install on them. Slightly different bracket from the 99+ and they require the fuel management unit. I have an aftercooler setup as well so i can push bigger numbers but just a non cooled kit would give you a hell of a boost and is very easy to install as long as you have all the parts together

Kenne bell is an awesome kit but pricey. You can make the same power with the vortech for much cheaper. Our internals cannonly handle so much so in sense any supercharger/turbo is only able to make a certain amount of power without built internals. Dont get me wrong id love a kenne bell but for the money vortech all the way

Well since the vortech is centrifugal design just like turbos theres lag as the pressure builds up? With the KB powers instant along the whole rpm range pretty much so idk to me that seems to outweigh the slight price difference. The vortech is easier to launch from a dig though if i remember right. Hmm, i guess money is the deciding factor here

Dependin on the pulley you use will determine the lag. The lag is still not close to a turbo
