The 03-04 SVT Cobras are listed at 390hp but it is a very conservative rating most people including myself have found well over 400hp in stock trim. My 03' made over 370hp at the wheels alone while it was stock. 0-60 times from various magazines like Road & Track and Motor Trend are under 5 seconds in the 4.5-4.8 range 1/4 times have been listed as low as 12.4 and as high as 13.12. A safe bet is in the 12.7 range.

Im getting a GT, cobras are to expensive for me. I was just curious becuase I know the 04 GT has like 265 horses and the new Gt's have 300 horses. So I was wondering if the old cobras were Gt 500's. 390 horse power is still a lot since the car weights so much less then the new ones.

actually a decent cobra (03-04) cost about the price of a base price S197 GT. maybe not the 1,00 mile ones but still. Good luck in getting a 'stang, you'll love it

Buying an 03-04 Cobra is not as easy as some may think. First off most low mile Terminators are selling in the high 20s and some even hitting the 30k mark. I have seen 05 GTs selling for low 20 and even in the high teens with reasonibly low miles. Two, and very important is that many 03-04 cobras selling on the used market are beat dogs its hard to find any used SVT that isnt beat and the Terminators are no exception.

I bought mine back when the 05' Stang were first hitting market in late 04' for $25,000 with 4k miles. at the time 03-04' Cobras and MAch1s were selling really cheap ( the same place i bought my car also had a 03' Mach 1 with 1500miles for only $19,000) but after the GT500 came out with 20k markups the value of my car went sky high! I barly have 10k on it now and have been offered $30,000 all summer.

I didn't plan on buying a car, but when I saw that deal I had too. I take solace in the fact that I own one of the last REAL SVT cobras, before Ford had shelby slap his name on a car that SVT built.
