I just purchased a 1999 Mustang GT Convertible. I'm thinking of putting 17"x9" Cobra rims in the front along with 18"x 10" in the rear. Has anyone seen that combo before and did it look okay? Also, any potential problems with this combo? Please advise......... and thanks!

I've heard of people doing that with no problems. Personally I would go 17x9 up front and 17x10.5 in the rear, but thats just me.

You can get factory replica's all day long in various sizes. Especially 95 R, y2k R and 03 cobra wheels. Check http://www.afswheels.com for more info.

Thanks alot for the link. I've found several knock-offs on Ebay but wasn't sure how wide I could go in the rear?

Welcome and I must agree with Scott. Either that or he yells at me. Kidding.....I would go 17's like he said just for tire cost alone. If you price 18's and see no money issue, go for it. Stay away from the AFS website, it somehow tries to stink money out of my wallet each time I go to it.

17" x 9" all around has advantages, price and rotating ability, to name a couple. Would you have 400hp at the wheels then 10.5" wide wheels would be ideal.

I do agree with George on sticking with 17x9 for the maintence factors of it, but on a car that you want custom and you dont drive daily, then opt for wider rears ')

don't limit yourself to cobra wheels. there are plenty of other wheels out there that aren't cobras. be different.

the 17x9s at all corners look bad, cuz it fills the fendes in the front and is WAY overbodied in the rear, the 17x10.5 fillas the rear nicely.
