Mustang Front Bumper (03-04 Cobra) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

Don't have any experience, other than designing the part and mold for bumper covers in Catia.

With that cover, it looks like there are some more black plastic inserts required to finish up the fogs and air inlet.

I have some questions:

1. I don't see the plastic inserts/fog fascia with the cover, where would I find them and how much? Edit found on AM.

2. What/where/how much to get the round fogs installed and working(is there retrofitting required to mount and so-forth)? found the fog lights wondering if its just a bolt up once the cover is installed?

3. Is there anything else "behind-the-scenes" I will need to complete the functionality, appearance and/or installation?

4. What is the functionality/purpose for the air inlets, do they have piping to the brakes or are there kits for different uses?

5. Is this a direct bolt up to my 99 GT(I see pop rivets with the kit, so makes me wonder)?

6. Can I have this painted off the car at the dealership then bring home and install myself?

7. Has anyone done this mod to a GT?

Thanks for any comments, thoughts or information.:headbang:

Ill answer the ones I know.

2. Yes if you have a gt.

3. No, 2 bolts in each side and then your grill

5. Yes

6. You can, however if you take it to a paint shop they should fade the paint into the car so there's not much a noticable difference.

I put one of these on my v6. I got all of it from a Certifit which is the place to go for oe parts. So much cheaper than anywhere else. My dad and I painted it and installed it and it went on perfect. I was missing the bezels that hold the fog lights and brake cooling duct and the fog lights themselves. I went back and bought them and installed them. Never got the foglights hooked up, and never installed the brake duct kit (don't even know if there is one). Long story short, hope that helps and do install yourself. It isn't hard. And we also just took the Pony out of the old grille ( I think it was pop riveted on) and made a bracket and mounted it like the cobras have it. Kind of like the mach1 too. Hope any of that helps. Also be aware the GT and V6 hood is longer than the Cobra hood, so if you mound the top of the grill sides where it usually goes the hood will hit the bumper. A lot of people drill holes farther back in the headlight nose panel and mount it slightly back so prevent this from hitting.

Top of this panel is what i am referring to.

Thanks for that. I was going to swap in a 95 R hood. Will that work?

Also I am running with grille delete.

I do remember that. Just scuffed the paint on the top of the pillar around the grille. And I can't remember now. But just as a reference I almost bought the cs bumper for my 06 a few months back and it was only like $230. See if you can find a place like it. Just oem replacement. It's where all the guys go who buy wrecked cars

I'm sure you mean 95 R style hood, but No it will not be shorter, 2003 cobra front end is a unique combo, all other hoods unless specifically designed to replace on a 2003-04 cobra will be longer.

06blackvetstang, why didnt you add the black chin spoiler like the cobras have? It would go nice with your side and hood stripes.

I could have added my old Mach 1 spoiler but I was happy with it not scraping anymore. Plus I was 16 so I didn't want to spend any money haha. You are right though. I wish I had a real zinc yellow cobra. Or sunset orange. Or black. Or red. Or blue. Heck I'll take any 03-04 cobra.

06 did you make the mod for the hood or are you running tight fit?

Thanks again Knight for setting me straight.

Maybe I'll go with 03 cobra hood. That might look better anyway?

No I didn't modify it. I think we bent the hood latch a little and it was still snug but didn't touch the bumper. The hood latch took a little more jiggle after that but it worked fine.

honestly that first one seems worth a try for only 168 plus 110 shipping. 278 and includes not only the cover but the bezels and fog lights.

All the other ones the bezels are sold seperate for another 70 or so dollars.

make sure whatever you do, prefit the bumper on and make nessessary cutting/sanding adjustments if needed before painting it. Worst thing in the world would be to paint it only to find out it needs some moddifications for fitment.
