To Cat or not to Cat, that is the question
The local shop employees all run MAC prochambers but no stainless. With the salt air and humidity I think stainless is the only way. I'm going to go with one of those two. I'd like someone with the Magnaflows to let me know what they think.

Id get catted. If I could, I'd run no cats(the GT has 6) but eventually, all states will require them. Save yourself the trouble now.
I cant get over the trouble with emmissions you guys have to go through. Here in Nova Scotia, I LEGALLY run my little toyota with STRAIGHT PIPE right back to the muffler. No resonaters, catalytic converters, nothing.
Anything older than a 89 is ok, or something like that. There are lots of guys out here that run just their o/r x or h pipe, then just straight to the mufflers. It sounds really good. And come drag time, the exhaust gets taken off completely, minus the headers and a few feet of pipe.
On the other hand, if you have strong emmisions laws, it would be better to have the cats, and only have to do it once.

I could have went with off-roads and the local performance shop would swap them out for my annual inspection for only $40 (off and back on) but after reading an article in a new Mustang Magazine the cats only lower the horsepower by "1hp". Not a problem.
I got the bassani x-pipe (with cats) installed yesterday. Since I have a 65 mile round trip commute each way I had a good chance to check them out today. Alot better performance. I didn't notice it at normal speeds but if you get the tach up you'll feel the difference.
I was wondering if anyone else that has an x-pipe (mines a bassani) and has lowered their car is having problems with scraping. I didn't know the bassani would drop down that low. Scott? How about you?
Ive never had much of a problem with mine scraping. When mine was installed we tucked my H-pipe up as high as we could get it. I think I hit my tranny on speedbumps more than I hit anything else :P
