Carburet a 4.6 4 valve?

Hey guys, I've started shopping around for some power adders for my Cobra. I don't want to supercharge it, and after doing some looking and reading am rather enticed by a carbureted setup. I like the novelty of the setup on the modular engine. That being said, I can't find anything on the topic. I read an article that said Kar Kraft had a plate that allowed any 302/5.0 intake manifold to bolt onto the top of the 4.6 4v. Kar Kraft no longer has a working website however, and I tried the phone number today to find that it's been disconnected.

If anyone has any information, website, book, person, or magazine article on performing a conversion like this please let me know? Thanks!

BTW, here's the article, http://www.musclemustangfastfords.co...est/index.html

I think Kar Kraft had the market cornered for the 4V Carb market. I know after they closed someone posted some parts on ebay.com, but I think those are all gone.

My suggestion would be to search on google.com and try to find someone that has used a Carb'd 4V setup. There is a guy on mach1registry.com that is using a Carb'd setup on his Mach with a heavy application of nitrous. I am not sure of the gains to be expected on a "stock" motor using a Carb'd setup, but looking won't hurt you if that is the setup what you want.

I was afraid that was the case with Kar Kraft. I guess I came onto the seen about a year or two too late. I'll keep looking around, but thank you for the info.

There are other companies who make a Carb setup for the 4.6.

For example:
http://www.sullivanperformance.com/Y...s/products.htm

^It looks like you would need to switch to a C head to have that fit. Sorry for the tease.

I've checked out Sullivan as well. Both the Sullivan and the Kar Kraft setup require the C heads. Can I simply swap the heads out or is there more to it than that?

Why in the world do you want to go back in time? I could understand it for a dedicated offroad machine but a street ride humm? I don't see the value of doing it IMO.

The administrator on fortwaynemuscle.net has like a 99 or 01 Cobra that has the 4v 4.6 with a carb...... you could check that site out and PM him.

Why not? I've thought about supercharging, but I want to do something unique with this car. It's not even a for sure yet, but I am seriously entertaining and researching the idea.

Thank you for that!!! I looked him up and checked out the instructions he had listed for the build. I think I'm going to email him this weekend, I've got to try and focus on homework for now
