best timing for 5.0

I have a 94 5.0 and was wondering what is the best timing people have used. Motor is stock but at 3500 rpms it knocks when engine is heated up. However when its cold can run it up to 5000 with no knock. Does anyone have any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

12-14 degrees is the best from what I've read some cars can go to 16-18 but if you don't have the right tune that can be a huge problem , but for the safe side 12-14 more towards 14 degrees , I believe stock is at 10!!
