Best deal on Remaining SN95's!
Mestizo (what's your dang ol' name man?),
I am NOT looking for a DELUX. I WANT the PREMIUM.
What I was saying was that in my area there are NO PREMIUMS, which I hate, they are all DELUX.
And for the manual:
I have a bad knee (football) and plus I drive roughly 40-55miles a DAY! 30 of these miles are on the freeway, there is no way I am going stick in my situation as it sits right now! When that 07 Cobra comes out, now that will be my stick toy, if ya' dig me! lol.

The only I reason I said deluxe is because there's no way you can get an 04, for under 20K. Actually I take that back I saw an 04 with 2K for 19,995.
So if you want premium, checking the used market will probably be your best route(you've pretty much said that all along).
As far as the manual, I have a friend with a bad knee also, and the GT's clutch wasn't too rough on his knee. He said that since the clutch wasn't raised high above the floor it spared him the pain.
Of course your knee could be different.
Really? I drove my dad's Toyota pick-up (work truck) that was a manual, and darn that thing hurt worse than a duck in a chinese restaraunt!
so maybe I will go test drive a manual (or rent one!) to see how it feels!

yeah the clutch is very light in the GT. and its not like the clutch in a truck. you barely have to lift your foot to work the clutch in the mustang. not the Cobra you would be in trouble. trust me if my wife can drvie a 5 sp. im sure it wont hurt you knee too bad.
Just my .02...
Bought my 04GT right around christmas (spur of the moment, was a Chevy guy until now)
I got black, with grey leather, Mach stereo with 6disc changer (and SAT button if you read the satellite radio post) 5-spd, and yes i drive fasssssssssssssssssssst. So you wouldnt wanna buy one from me.
But All in all I think I paid about 25...uses less gas and goes faster than the SUV I had previously, I love that the road is now a racetrack.

That's pretty much is MSRP, I'm hoping to get one around invoice.......hopefully less.
Right now I'm saving up for my down payment, and I have a dilemma of this:
Ford offers 0.0% financing till Sept. 30, but I'm wondering if I can get a better deal in Oct. when MORE 05's start hitting the lots.
I'm doubting they'll offer 0% when the 05's come out...not to mention the fed will be raising interest rates again before then. I got 1.9% thru Ford Credit on mine when I bought it last month.

is 22964 before rebate and down a good price for a competition orange 04 gt?
She lists for $24740 ..
My General Maintenance Oldsmobile is on its last legs, and I may not be able to hold out for the 05.

Quick question....what options are on it?
If it's a premium if you could knock off $300-$500 then it becomes a good-great deal.
If it's a deluxe keeps trying, I had a friend get a verbal $21.5 on a deluxe, and that was 3+ months ago.
Try Edmunds and carsdirect.com, and see what they have as their target price.

0% is available on 04 mustangs (incl Mach 1) up to 48 mo.

Yea that's what I thought.
You guys think the dealers are pressured to give you a more "shafty" deal since you're choosing $2.5K or 0.0% or do you think you can get a good deal despite their offers.

April....deffinetly keep trying man. Try to get that to what Matt said, 21.5K. Tell them, meet that or you walk right now...100$ says they will follow you out to your car, and offer you 21.7...then take it!
Since it has ABS that's an option $600-$700. So I take back, my 'it's not a good offer' statement, but I think you can do a little better.
I've been trying to find a "formula" of what you should expect to pay, this is not a SET formula, but comparisons from MSRP to the deals people are walking out of the dealership having paid.
This contains math and gets a little tricky, but it pretty much makes sense.
Example:
For my zip code(apparently it matters)
----------------
Edmunds quotes: with the ABS option and orange color(yes, color matters not much, but some)
MSRP: $25,030
Invoice: $22,996
What the average customer pays(CP): $23,374
---------------
From this info this is HOW you want to make YOUR deal. If you want to do it based off previous customers then:
My Formula:CP/MSRP (Customer Pay divided by MSRP).
This tells you what percentage of the MSRP the customer paid.
EX. If something is $10 MSRP, and you pay $9
9/10 = 90% of MSRP
Then next time you know if something is $20 MSRP expect to pay:
$20 * .90(<---90%) = $18 dollars
So we take:
23374/25030 = 93% <--- most people pay 93% of MSRP by Edmunds' listed price.
If you go by invoice(invoice/MSRP):
22996/25030 = 92% <----invoice is 92% of MSRP by Edmunds.
------------------------------
Cars Direct:
MSRP: $25,030
Target Price: $23,316
Target Price/MSRP
23316/25030 = 93%
-----------------------------
Basically most people pay 93% of MSRP.
Which isn't that great, if you could get 90% of MSRP...take it.......or start low and gradually move up to 90~91% then stand firm.
Back to the math:
For your car
YOUR MSRP: $24,740
We take that number multiply it by the 93%, and we get an estimate of what most people will pay for your car(trust me on the math logic).
93% of MSRP
24740*.93=23008 (You got a better offer)
92% of MSRP(Invoice)
24740*.92=22760.80 (Much better)
So 22,760.80 is your invoice price, and 23,008 is what other people are paying for your car.
But those numbers don't take into account the new 05's coming out, and how many people have test drove your car(how many miles).....etc etc. Also the previous purchase numbers include Fall 2003 sales, so the price has gone down dramatically.
If you're not COMPLETELY confused, you know more math than what's good for you.
Try $20.5K honestly, then SLOWLY move up to $21.5-21.7K, don't jump up by $500's.
Also the formula is what most of the people have paid.....try to beat it.
Even if you can get $21799(before rebate) that's:
217999/24740 = 88% of MSRP....that's an AWESOME deal
This is a closeout model, you have the power not them, they want the 04's off their lots and want tons of 05's. Don't let them get ya'.
I know people are gonna hate my formula.

ABS(and orange) is an absolute must, so that is one I was pleased with. I also need to mention, this orange has black stripes on it, and the dealer will put the deluxe rims on for me at no additional cost. It has the standard gt rims on it now. I have personally driven this car miles and miles. I know it has been on the lot since March, and no one has bought it. The dealer I am using is in Tuscaloosa Al, and is not one of the velcro dealers(who told me their cruddy v6auto was the last orange mustang in alabama). I am doing most everything over email fax and phone as well to make life easier.
Since my leadfoot husband is on my insurance, it is also going to cost me 110 a month to insure it. ( I overinsure, because of the uninsured in this state)
I have rented an 04 from Hertz. I am going to try it out for size and see what happens. I have two children, and if they can't fit in there without folding up(11 and 9 years old) its going to be a problem. This is my ultimate road test about whether I go for the beeeyooooootyful 05 or get the car color of my dreams(being the 05 is a new model I have no wiggle room or rebates, and with no rebates, this means no GT.
I am already aware about how it handles in all manner of traffic( I use a rip off artist car dealer near me to drive em) I have drove in stop and go, got her up to 90 on the interstate and taken her down a country road and a us highway. Aside from being able to feel every pebble on the road, I am pleased. The clutch is a dream, and shifting is very smooth. The rental is an auto v6
I can pretend though.
