99 Mustang GT; Having trouble starting!! Please Help!!

Hey guys,

My GT is having some trouble starting. It will turnover, but it just won't stay started. It will stall out after about a second. I tried to give it gas while starting it and it works, but as soon as I take my foot off the gas it stalls out again. Any idea what the problem could be? Thanks for the help!

Also, its about 30 degrees here in Jersey, but I dont see that being a problem. I ran it yesterday and it started just fine and ran well.

When is the last time you changed the fuel filter? Either that or IAC most likely

Is the fuel pump cycling when you turn the key on but not start it? You should hear a slight hum noise from the trunk when u do that.

IAC is Suspect

Focus on the IAC (Idle Air Control). The fact you can keep it running by using the gas pedal really points to that. I have changed a few.

You can check the Fuel pump with a code scanner at Idle, 2000 RPM and Engine off. PSI should be around 38 to 41 in all cases. As the engine RPM increases it would try to die off if it were a fuel filter or weak fuel pump.
