94-95 ECU swap?

94-95 ECU swap?
Has anyone ever swapped out the ECU in a 94-95 GT for a 90-93 ECU? I heard the 94-95 ECU isn't very good for tuning if you are planning on adding some serious power, and that some people swap to the Mass air units from the Fox's. Any info on the swap would be great, especially on how the airbags and anti theft is effected.

Most tuning I have seen on the fox bodies or even the 94-95 is mostly manual. You really can get around any ecu tuning with parts tuning. So I really don't see the swap or even a chip necessary.

However, in some cases, especially FI, you have to make changes to dashpot, MAF transfer, etc.
Just depends on how it idles, and the MAF you use.
Good luck! Let us know if you have any questions, or if you need help tuning it.
Cheers,

This is where I always start. Trying to twist the distributor, and adjusting fuel pressure. However, in some cases, especially FI, you have to make changes to dashpot, MAF transfer, etc. Just depends on how it idles, and the MAF you use. Good luck! Well, one thing off the to do list. And twisting the distributor advances the timing I assume. Not something I've ever done before, but I could try it out.

If you're going with a turbo stroked pushrod motor setup, leave the tuning to the pros. That thing will need to be dyno tuned by a high level tuner. Nothing a simple timing adjustment will do for you.

The more I can do myself the better, but I agree. A motor shop should tune it. Luckily a family friend of ours owns a custom shop, so I'm in luck! I'll talk to him about it, I think they've built a 600+ hp SN-95 before
