68 miles on one tank...

I just filled up and went to reset my trip, and noticed I only got 68 miles... WTF? Minimal fun time... What could the culprit be, could the thermostat effect it like this. I just put some seafoam in this fill up to try and clean it up...

Seems pretty bad to me. How do you drive? Any mods like intake, what does the air filter look like? How does it idle? T stat wouldn't make it eat to much gas. What year and what engine do you have? How many mile are on the clock?

It's a 2004, JLT CAI, BBK 78 mm throttle body/plenum, off road x-pipe, 315's at 27 psi. Two owners ago had tranny rebuilt by a performance shop, not sure what clutch is in it, not stock though... It's hard too see the filter, but what I did see it looked pretty good..

I did a little hot Rodriguez, but nothing extreme too often, it idles about 700 rpm...

Are you sure no one stopped by and siphoned some of it out of your tank?

Yeah, I'd check to make sure you didn't have a leak. That's not but 5 mpg, I don't care how bad you thrash it, you're not going to get that kind of mileage.

Seriously. Even on a road course, you'd get 9-10 combined.

Are we sure it was a full tank? Could the gauge be faulty? Was the trip reset mid-tank?

I always reset at the gas station... Last fill up took 11 gallons from a little below 1/4 and this fill up took 13 gallons from just above empty...

Then this is a good mystery. A full tank should give you 380-400 miles...not 68...interesting

On an SN95? Lol no...250-300 depending on how you drive. I usually got no more than 250, with a rough estimate of 30/70 city/freeway. I was usually in the 220-240 range, in both my stock 2000 V6 auto with just a catback and my 2003 GT with JLT CAI, catback and high flow catted X, Amazon tune, T56 and 3.73s. It was strange how both cars got pretty much the exact same range, and I drove them both decently spirited.

That's said, my 2014 Track Pack GT with Solo catback and high flow cats, and AED tune, gets about 250 to a tank too! I just can't get more than that around here unless I drive an entire tank on the freeway. Our stop light systems are the SUCK in my area. None of them are synchronized correctly.

Well yeah there's something wrong there. Did you actually fill up when the gas gauge showed empty. Like, how many gallons did you put in?

I don't know man... When I bought the car I drove 135 miles home on a 1/4 tank doing 80 majority of the way... All I've done since getting it home is change stock clutch cable to a steeda, and changed the stock throttle body and plenum to the bbk 78...

Man, how often do you drive? I'm pretty sure I would notice going through nearly a full tank on April 1st regardless of how far I drove.
