Ok so as I'm bed ridden, I'm just doing research how do I swap the automatic to standard? And how do I set the clutches and pedals?

You could keep the automatic. I heard if you do work to a auto you can make it faster than a manual. Don't know if it's true, but look it up. I see claims of 3-5 tenths off a quarter mile by changing the torque converter. Even more time reductions with a shift kit. Look it up hopefully it's true.

But I would need the computer with the auto. I'd love to keep the auto but how do I use it if I want to go carbed and a different engine?

I think someone in this thread mentions getting a standalone computer for just the transmission.

Blackout 5/5/13 04:43 PM

How do I get that?

No clue, hope the person that mentioned it speaks up. I do know however that they had automatic's in mustangs from the 70's so it's possible to keep your auto just I don't know how. Hopefully someone on the forums chimes in to save the day.

Alright now just to save up for some parts looks like ill just be buying a tubular k member and engine... Pretty simple

Blackout 5/11/13 06:25 PM

How much torque for k member ?

1999Pony 5/11/13 09:32 PM

Motor torque or how much torque on the bolts?

Blackout 5/11/13 11:26 PM

Well I'm getting the tubular k member was wondering how much torque or is it lock nuts?

ShaneGT 5/12/13 12:15 AM

pick up a maintenance manual on your model car, it will have all the tech specs and torque specs you will need.
