Hi all, I am new to this forum, was looking at a 1996 Mystic Cobra, and was wondering what "issues " these vehicles have and what I should look for before purchasing. The car has 68,000 miles looks to be in very good shape original paint. What are usual problems that I should just walk away from? I am somewhat mechanical but not looking for a major project. Thanks for any input!!

 

Any vehicle that old you will have some problems with, just youre looking at s Cobra, mystic paint, 68K miles.... Simply put, buy it! I had a 98 Cobra thing was very nice until a tree jumped out in front on s snow covered road. Dang trees. I had one issue with the transmission not going into gear and took it to the stealership (I know why now this fits) to have it fixed.

I've had several Mustangs of that vintage, first check your battery cables that they are in good shape. Check your engine mounts for wear and tear. I just bought a 97 Cobra and I changed the tranny, rear dif and engine oil. It made a big difference. Post some pics.
