A guy over on the registry ran 12.98's bone stock (including tires) as well. So many LS1 guys don't realize how quick they can be (given the right driver).

Yup, and pray nothing breaks in the process! I know I wouldn't come close to that (relatively speaking, of course).

You are exacly right. I'm an LS1 guy and I have tons of respect for Mustangs, especially the Mach 1. Even the 01+ GT's are extremely quick. My friend has an 01 GT w/ just a K&N and 2 Turbo Mufflers and he has came very close to taking out my Z28 when I was stock. I am glad to see Ford push the Mach 1's HP to over 300. A lot of LS1 guys underestimate the 4.6

I give Ford a lot of credit in producing one heck of a car. My Z28 is getting a lot of miles on it and when I get in a better financial situation I will be purchasing a GT.

Well, the Mach 1 was meant to be the drag racer Mustang, guess it proved its point.

hmm..

the '05 GT numbers had the Mach1 in mind.. I guess that means if you want to powershift you could break into the 12's

So do a lot of 5.0 guys. The 4.6 is by no means the pinnacle of engines but it does deserve some credit I think. B)

i agree. though the 4.6 doesnt have the following the 5.0 does. it is gaining. and will only increase as the aftermarket gets more and more support. i have a 5.0lx and 04 GT and the 04 feels almost as quick as my 5.0 which isnt stock anymore

Oh my gosh, you Ford fanboys are so gullable. Tell me, if just about every non-mustang site and magazine I've read shows times from approx. 13.8 to 14.0 quarter mile times, then how is it that these professionals cannot shave a whole extra second off the times?

Eh I highly doubt that. Like i said, most of these guys are professionials Just seems like there are some biased opinions and times floating around out here, especially on specialty sites(not just Ford, if it were a Camaro site i'm sure there would be the fanboys doing the same).

You actually believe the 1/4 mile run numbers magazines produce? You're gullible. With enough sponser contribution money, Stock GT can out perform a C5 Corvette. The ONLY numbers I believe in are the ones that come from actual members that have time slips to prove their runs. I've seen '99-'04 GTs run 13.6 in the 1/4 mile....... K&N FIPK II and Tri-Ax as mods. Driver had mad driving skills. He then threw on DRs and ran 13.3. Temp was 66 degrees and at an alt. of 40' above sea level. Don't believe what mags put in their articles. Whoever pays the most will get the better numbers.

I have video proof of a 01 automatic STOCK gt going 13.66. The car is belongs to a member of this board and a good friend of mine. His screen name is Ua2k1gt. Magazines could never get a 99+ automatic gt out of the 14.5 range. They either dont know how to drive or dont push the cars hard enough. I am not saying all gt's run mid-13's.. most of them are in the low 14/high 13 range with a good driver. Ua2k1gt's car is just a factory freak.

Also I have video of Tim Barth (Cobra Killer on all the forums, owner of T&J Performance http://www.modularfordpowerhouse.com) taking his wifes stock 03 mach1 to a 13.1 i believe.

I am just trying to say that dont believe what you see in magazines. 1/4mi times and also dyno numbers are always skewed in some way.
