04 GT Blown spark plug, tore threading from head

Just recently I experienced a spark plug thar was ejected from its hole. Upon further inspection I noticed quite a bit of aluminum thread on the end of the spark plug. At this point I already knew my options were limited on fixing the problem. Replacing the whole head was out of the question. Way too expensive for just one stripped spark plug hole. So I decided to rethread the hole and put in an insert. Pretty easy DIY job now I just need to wait 24 hours until the red gasket stuff cures. Anyway my question is typically how long do these inserts last? And will I see more ejected spark plugs in the future? If anyone has ever experience the same issue let me know how long it's been time/mileage since the insert was put into there mustang.
I love my car and want it to last.

The cars are bad for ejecting plugs. I've been fortunate with mine (knock on wood), but i haven't heard anything bad about the inserts.

Had it happen on mine with one plug. That was a couple of years ago. No issues since. So if your fix was done properly, I figure you're fine.

Cool thanks for the peace of mind. I watched a bunch of how to videos before attempting the rethread/insert myself and followed the one with the best methods. I actually fired it up this morning for the first time since the incident. Ran perfect just like before.

Had the same issue in my sons 01 Bullitt.....123,000 miles. Blew one out, but was able to replace it without doing anything (don't ask me how or why)....then blew the same plug out about 3 months later. Went with a insert and it worked great until it blew a second plug out....at that point I'd had enough...rebuilt the engines and put some Trick Flow heads on it...so far so good. Side note, I couldn't find stock heads to save my a#€....no one had them, hence why we ended up with the Trick Flow heads

OMG!!!! Well, I'm glad you got it going again...

I'm shopping for Mustang no. 15 currently.
Having done the inserts in my brother's 02 E250 w/5.4, which was a NIGHTMARE, I was hoping to avoid that. There were only THREE threads on each hole.
HOW COULD FORD DO THAT!!??
I thought for sure that the PI motors were NOT part of that mess...

I want to get a New Edge, the only model I haven't owned yet.
This makes me think... If I get one, am I going to have to put inserts in all 8 holes?? I'm kinda fussy, I would do ALL of them, to feel better...

Do ALL New Edge years have this issue??

If it's not broken yet then don't fix it. I honestly think I had a defective motocraft spark plug when it was ejected. I don't even think it had anything to do with my car. The gapping on the plug was way to close and looked kinda bent honestly. Just get good quality plugs (iridium) and you probably won't have this same problem.
