Thanks for the feedback guys, I got a score of 14 Cobra to 2 GT. I am gonna keep the Cobra I just never realized how much more affordible the 05's have gotten (low mileage 05 GTs under 20k around here). My car is flat out worth more money than his. As much as I do love the new s197 Mustangs.I'm gonna hold on to my Cobra and buy an 05-06 GT when the new restlye in 09' or 10' comes out. I kinda wanna keep this car as a collectible and perhaps buy like I have in the past right after a restlye. I got a deal on my 97' back in the day because the 99's were just hitting market, same for my Cobra that I bought in 05'. Now I gotta decide what to do with the 97' keep it or sell it for my future 05 GT fund lol
Thanks a lot for the feedback guys, I feel like you helped me avoid making a decison that I would later regret

Talking

No problem. I could kinda tell you were serious about seriously considering this offer. I'm glad I was part of helping you make a good decision.

I gotta admit the major reason why I'm considerin the 06' is its ride, and handling. His car will do circles around mine in the twisties but his car kinda feels slow compaired to mine in a straight line... I'm gonna have to think about this one for a few days but right now i'm leaning towards keeping the 03'... anyone else has an opinion let me know thanks.
How will it do circle's around yours in the twisties? I have had both platforms and the Cobra is hands down a better handling car.

As for the guy that said get a blower for the 06' and smoke Cobra's .

I guess what I like about his car is it doesnt plow into the corners and isnt as nose heavy but I guess my better brakes help offset it. He's kinda bummed out that I decided to keep the Cobra lol Its funny out of my circle of friends all they guys said keep the cobra all the girls said get the gt..... Why don't girls like Cobras?????

Women always want people to have newer cars... You could have a '69 Mach1 with 1000 original miles in EXCELLENT condition and they'll think an 05 GT is better.

I'm speaking on most I've known, not all...

Don't let this bother you my BROTHER ...

If girls don't like Cobras it's probably for the same screwy reasons they seemed to have preferred Camaros over Mustangs ...

Not many women I know of can handle the Cobra anyways ... (which might also have something to do with it ... ???)

Cause they cant tell a cobra from a run of the mill V6. And like the guys have been saying, they know that if its newer its most likely worth more and most likely gonna get them more attention.

Nah, thats probably just cause their old boyfriend had a stang and got destroyed by camaros on a regular basis.

I don't care if women like my car or not, just thought it was kinda funny. To be honest most of the girls I know like the stupid hopped up Hondas and Nissans.Oh well just glad I can spank those cars any day of the week

Dang... I missed a whole bunch of responses at the end of your thread then saw that you had made your decision to keep the Snake! Nice thinking. I'm not gonna delete the below. I'll leave it just for re-inforcement incase the gremlin comes back I also agree with "05-1947," my '07 definitely doesn't handle like the '03. Even if both cars have suspension mods and wheels.

We bought an '07 last year. We've had a blast driving it. But 2-weeks ago, we bought an '03 Cobra. Here are some thoughts of why you are out of your frickin' mind to even think bout it!

The '03 is:
Faster!!
Stronger engine
Handles better out of the box
IRS
Faster!!
Has the name COBRA on it
4V DOHC
More potential without rebuilding the bottom end
Did I mention Faster!!
6-speed
Capable of tucking more tire under the fender well
Turns heads with respect!

The S197 is ...
Newer
More comfortable (if power seats)
Easier to take on long trips
More than 14,000 to choose from
Better sounding stereo
More passenger room
But, not as fast!

We still have the '07 for everyday driving but, the Cobra is definitely a keeper.

I agree with the others Don't sell he Cobra. You can always find an S197 but, there were less than 20,000 Terminators made. This is the car we all have memories of and say, "Ya, I had one of those - but sold it... I should've kept it!" I used to have a '66 Mustang, '69 RS/SS 350hp Camaro, and a '72 Vette; now only memories. DON'T DO IT!!!!

Thats the best bet.. keep the cobra and pick up a05-06... thats what I did but the other way around... my 05 is torn apart right now waiting for a 5.0 Stroker motor and turbo kit... so I got the itch and instead of going out and picking up another 05-06 I am picking up a 03 Cobra Monday.

Well i'm not planning on buying another stang for quite a while. I'm looking to purchase a home in the next year and recently bought a new daily driver. By the time i'm settled with a new place and my car payments caught up then i'll buy a decent low-mile 05-09 GT coupe (GT500 if i have the money and can be had for a fair price) which will probably be cheaper than buying an 03-04 Cobra in the future (compaired to an s197 GT). I am glad with my decison but have to admit i'd love to have a 5th gen car. Something about having an all new Mustang would be so cool i've owned 4 an 87' GT, 97GT, 04' GT and the 03' Cobra they all have so many similarities the 05' is truly different. So anyways I guess i will wait for an s197..........

+1 more for the Cobra! One of our local Mustang car club members has a '05 GT with all kinds of parts on it and a planned Whipple sc for the future. And guess what? He still wants a Terminator. Wouldn't mind one myself. Just put in a stout Al block, add twin turbos...

Keep the Cobra. Mod for mod the cobra will beat the GT. Plus which car do you think will be worth more later on?
