01 GT rev before shift

I have no idea why but until about a week ago my car was running with no problem. Now the rpms sky rocket before shifts. It's an 01 gt auto transmission

No idea... if it is a vacuum leak you have to find out where it is coming from first... could be as simple as replacing a piece of tube..

Did you ever find out what was wrong? My 2000 GT is doing the same thing.

Okay so here's my problem. About a month ago, I noticed that when I would put my 01 mustang in reverse or in drive, the motor would lift up or down. Then I noticed my rpm's are running around 2500 when I start it, but eventually go back down. I took it to a mechanic because I thought it was the motor mount or transmission mount, but both of those are fine. They said they can't manually turn down the Rpms. Any idea what it could be?
