Question What's that funny noise??

I have a 96 v6 convertible, I got it about 5 months ago. I had to learn how to drive stick so I know that the clutch is going to have to be replaced sooner than later. Last night when I was starting the car after the car cranked over and started it made a funny noise. My foot was still on the clutch and brake, my had was off the key. The only way I can describe it, it sounded like it over cranked like I held the key in the start position too long. Which is what I thought I did at first, so I drove away. The later when I went to start the car again to go home it did it again, and this time I'm completely sure that I was off the key when the sound happened. What could it be the starter starting to go or my ignition switch?

Does it make this sound while idling? Does it make it while depressing the clutch?

I only makes the noise after starting, then it stops. I haven't heard it while idleing or driving or while the clutch is pressed or not pressed.

Maybe an axel in the steering wheel colum is broke and is making it stay turned. My cobra had a similar problem, I removed the key and the car was still running and I had no way to turn it off. It was super weird. Only way I could turn it off was to disconnect the battery
