cheapest upgrade would be to find someone with a GT catback they took off and have that put on. I do believe you will still have to get a new pipe that will connect the dual catback to your stock exhaust setup.

Then maybe a Cold Air Induction kit (www.densecharger.com is a good one), steeda pullies... there are alot more that will help increase HP. Just dont look for one bolt on to give you a dramatic throw you in the seat type horsepower increase

I don't know how well they work with Mustangs, but get a chip and a burn with a dyno tune... Can do wonders for several aspects of your driving!

There are plenty of parts to choose from. Go to Need-4-Speed. They have plenty of goodies there. Densecharger is good inexpensive upgrade, but if you want to spend the extra $$$ get a C&L 73mm MAF kit... mo' better power. I've tried both. Actually, you can get a Densecharger with a 75mm Pro-M MAF at RPM-mustangs, which may be better. Best bang for your buck would be N2O kit, though that's getting into the $600 + range. The people at either of those sites could answer you're questions as well. Expensive parts can be found at Super Six Motor Sports and Morana V6 racing. That's probably more stuff than you were looking for, but there is a pretty big after market for the V6's.

If you can find one, I'd say try and go with a GT takeoff system, as they are relatively low priced (got mine for $220 with hangers and all) and are stainless steel. The only downside is you need to cut and weld your factory Y pipe to install and you may need to modify the tailpipe hangers up to fit under the V6 bumper without the GT exhaust cutouts. If you wanna spend the xtra $$$ and don't want to do the extra work i'd say go with a borla, steeda, or magnaflow exhaust kit as they bolt right up and are stainless. V8 mustang exhausts can go from about $250 to $800+ for a cat-back system.

I found this really cool body kit for Mustangs, and the thing that bothers me exaust system. Most of the body kits comes with holes for 2 mufflers (one on each side). As you know, Mustang V6 have only 1 muffler.

So now I'm trying to find exaust system that would fit that body kit.

Body Kit for Mustang

At first I thought that this body kit have nothing to do with mufflers, but then I e-mailed them and they told me that I need to modify my exaust system.

Well, I'd ask them if it will fit on a Mustang GT without exhaust modifications, and if it does, then any V6 dual system should work. As for modifying the stock exhaust, all you'd have to do is grab a hacksaw and chop the end of your tailpipe off, I suppose, although they do make "dumps," or muffler systems with almost no tailpipes for when clearance is an issue. The mustang the body kit was on is a V6, I'm pretty sure. ABC should be able to answer your questions, and if not, then there are many other body kits out there that do accomodate most all dual exhaust systems.

They didn't say it woudn't fit, they said that I would have to modify rear bumper.

Here is the e-mail:

Hi,

I have a question for you. I have 2000 Ford Mustang V6 and I want to order Body Kit Part#: ABC GTR 904 Kit from your site. The thing that bother me is rear bumper. As you know Mustang V6 have single muffler, and I would like to know does rear bumper (Part#: ABC GTR 904 Kit) have any holes where muffler is supposed to fit?

If yes, then how many?

Because if rear bumper have holes for 2 mufflers, then I would have to
change whole exaust system on my Mustang V6.
Thank you

Zoran

And this is their answer:

Dear Zoran,
Thank you for your interest in our parts. Yes you would have to modify the
rear bumper because it is not made for that.
Sorry if we can be of any further assistance to you please let us know.
Thank You

Good news. This is a e-mail that I got from them today:

Dear Zoran

We are now making a custom exhaust pipe to fit over the stock V-6 exhaust to
go with this GTR 903 Rear Bumper.
This pipe comes with a polished 3" x 6" tip, similar to the V-8 tips.
It will become available by next week and the price will be $50.
This bumper always comes without any holes, customers may have side pipe
exhaust and will not want any holes.
V-6 customers need only one hole, V-8 customers need two holes and coming
soon we will have center pipe exhaust which would require a hole in the
middle.

Thank you.

Cool deal, glad to see they make a pipe for it. If you do go with a dual exhaust you can fabricate your own holes, makes it a custom job B) .
