Hey guys, it's been a really long time since I've been on here. I went to the dark side(GM) but I might be back soon. I love the Firebird but I need to put it up so I can start working on it and I need a daily driver.

There is a girl I work with who has a 96 V6 with a 5-speed and I was wondering what the stock performance was. 0-60? 1/4mile? What are most people running with them? I'm not going to race it but I was just curious.

1996 V6 was 145hp and run 1/4 mile in like 16.5

 

How do you get such little power out of an engine?

It's good on gas at least right?

 

Last tank with my 98 V6 was 26.2mpg, running 70-80 on the freeway.

Of course the 98 has an extra 5 horsepower over the 96, so now I can at least stay up with your average minivan.

 

Don't know about a 96 V6 but, as the owner of a 96 GT I remember Car and Driver did 0-60 in 6.8 seconds in a GT.

 

Yeah, the 96-98 GT's had about the same hp as the 99-04 V6's. But, their tq was more, which is more important.
