Spoiler help
When I got my car, I got it without a spoiler. I was contemplating getting a Saleen spoiler when I found a great deal on an pair of original factory spoilers (one for my car an the other for my fiancee's) , painted and everything. The actual process of putting the spoiler doesn't seem complicated. Just drill four holes, tighten, and presto. My question is; Is there a sureway method to make sure that the spoiler is perfectly aligned? Will I need a special drill to not damage my trunklid? Should I just pay the $40 the dealershipsaid it would cost to get it installed? Keep in mind I will have to do it again for my fiancee's convertible Mustang.
Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the help.
There "should" be rubber plugs located inside of the trunk where the holes will be drilled. Remove the plugs and drill in the middle. We just bought a 2004 Ford Focus and that's all I did was looked at the template that was supplied with the spoiler, and basically drilled right in the middle of the area which was pluged, lined up perfectly, took about 5 minutes to install. Just used a metal drill bit, nothing special.

No problem... Although, it's a erie feeling drilling the first hole... I thought for a minute I may throw up, but after you drill the first one you get that "well, it's too late to turn back now, mide as well keep goin"
Just be strong young grasshopper you will do well

Ok, so last night after reading this I went into the garage and looked the inside of the trunk and the spoiler. The spoiler has 4 bolts sticking out and there are only 2 rubber plugs on the trunk. The rearmost bolts seem to align with the rubber plugs, what about the front bolts? Do I just drill away, or is there another marker on the trunklid for them?
 hmmmm I am not sure... I guess my only question is to ask I did not see what years of Mustangs you had.... They switched the spoiler after 2000 so if you have a 99-00 mustang and are using a spoiler off of a 01 + or vise versa that may be a problem although don't qme on that.. sorry I could not be of more assistance on that one.

As I am getting ready to install these spoilers, I realized that they have some minor scratches. What's the best way to get rid of them without repainting?
