I have seen those smoked headlight covers for Mustangs. I have an O4. Should I try them out or not? Too ghetto or okay? Too Rice or not?

Be honest and help me out.

Thanks!!

P.S. I can't find any pics of stangs with them on. Anyone can post some I would love it!

personally i think they look good but, i think with the design of the headlights you have to put velcro or something on the lights them self to allow the covers to stay on and i woudln't do it. i have seen tinted healights where the light it self had a film like tint applied to it but thats usually not leagal for night use. there was some pictures of them on SVTP but i can't find them. I have my taillights tinted and it really cleans up the rear of the car. you can see those at ninosport.com there called overlays.

I would just save up and get tinted lights. The covers are more trouble than there worth, I had them on my '87. I had to velcro them on and when I decided to get rid of them that velcro was a pain in the $%^ to get off.

get the covers. the velcro isnt bad, it isnt visible, and if you get tint, and get a fine for it, its a lot harder to take off.

if you get them, go for the tail light covers too. that orange and black would look mean.

i personally dont like the covers (they're those plastic things that stick out a bit right?)

if i were in your position i'd go with the cobra headlights, a little more, i kno, but it looks waaaaay better. just a thought

theres a difference between smoked, and blacked out. i like my headlights, but i still plan on getting covers. it makes an amazing difference on any color or year of mustang.

I say leave them stock. You already have the darker lights versus the 99-01 and they look great as it is.

i dunno ithink hey look kinda cheesy...not the fact that its blacked out just the idea of big plastic peices velcro'd to the car just turns me off. my cousin had em on his 95 v6 for the tail lights and the headlights.....one of the tail light ones fell off somewhere...so he hadda buy another pair...then like a week later someone stole one! just thought id throw that in

Thats exactly what I'm switching to. I am gonna buy a pair of 2001-2004 headlights. I would leave them as is.

Thats what I did on my old car -- it was a 2000. Just watch when you go to install the passenger side light if you also have a cold air system. Almost ripped the plug right off the end of the wire

Watch out when driving at night with covers, the headlights wont light up much at all
your car is gorgeous as is, the light covers wouldn't do well for it IMO, but it comes down to what u like

Doug's got a good point! They really are more trouble than they're worth. Also you may want to check with your local municipalities and see what the regulations are on them. Some places let you have them on during the day and some don't. I know around here the police are very stringent on the headlight covers and will make you take them off.
