Just letting everyone know, i just bought a car 2 days ago. it is a 2002 mineral gray v6 mustang with dark charcoal leather interior, mach 460, and its an auto.

i really wanted a 2005 but i have about $1000 in repairs to my integra and it would not hold up till this winter. anywho, this'll be my car for the next 3 years while i'm in college and when i graduate, a 2007 GT it will be!

i got this car for $13350 ($14086 after all the tags and tax). $5000 down, financed for 5 years on my own credit at 10.86% and monthly payments of $196 a month. i'll have it paid off in 3 years though B)

ps- in the pics, thats my brother riding in it and my parents

edit: it wont let me upload the pics i have which are about 500K in size. i'll take some lower quality shots later and put them up

Congrats on the new car! You did the right thing by not getting in over your head like some people do. Newer and faster models will be coming out all the time, and you can always upgrade when the time comes.

Enjoy the new car. I still have the 'new car' smell in mine, and I love it!

well, not only that, but i test drove some gts, and i consider myself to be a really good driver, but i noticed i was spending way too much time managing the power under the hood and controlling its noticeably greater weight; and almost no time minding the road.

i guess being able to easily deal with those things only comes with experience. its probably also tougher when going from a v4 to a v8. i guess a v6 is a good stepping stone for now

That's the same way how I felt when I first got my GT. I actually was a little scared driving it around because it felt like I could not control its power. However, you get used to it quite quickly B) . Now, when I drive my old Neon, I feel like there is something wrong with everything. Why is the clutch so soft? Why does it not accerlerate in first and second gear? Why is this car not working  ???

Hehehe, I think that I would not be able to go back to something with less power. Or at least a similar amount of torque.

Congrats to your new car. I am sure you will enjoy it.

Congrats on the purchase. That's what I did when I had to get a new car. I could only affor the payments on a V6. The cobra will have to wait until I can afford it. Welcome to the V6 club

i'm driving a rental malibu right now

oh well, poop happens. but i'll be swapping the malibu for an f-150 tomorrow. stupid drivers make me mad

That is so unlucky I hope you have it back on the road soon. Anyway, apart from the idiot, how are you liking it? I personally am loving my V6, even though it still misbehaves on the handling at times

Any damage other than the rims and tires? Sounds like a good excuse to get that set of 17" rims that I know youve been thinking about.... The mineral grey would look mean with a set of the black center bullitt rims. Or chrome or polished.

hmm
so i found out from my ford dealer where the car is in the shop that the subframe that holds the engine and transmission is bent. They will fix it, but does any one know what problems this may pose in the future with this car?

You have any idea who it was...car wise?

GM fans angry about their precious Camaros/Firebirds being cancelled(not to mention a sorry GTO)?

Wannabe Honda racer?

The car gets put on a "jig" which straightens the bend by about 2 degrees a day. I is this slow so as not to cause metal fatigue. If it is done correctly, it shouldn't cause any problems in the future. You might also get them to check the wheel tracking, that might have been put out in the accident. If it is out, handling can suffer and you get funny wear on your tires.

Cavelier's are cool......you mean to tell me it isn't cool when your car squeaks louder than the exhaust?

You don't like that ratty material, it almost seems like homeless people rejected the materials, THEN they sent them to the GM factory.

Lemme just say this.......I don't think I've EVER....I mean EVER seen a Cavelier at a car wash. Probably cuz they aren't worth the $3 wash.

I know I was mean, but I don't like that car either.

Perhaps the wheel scrubbers remove vital panels???
