Does anyone know how to boost the fob signal? I literaly have to be inches from the car to lock and unlock the car with the remote. I have already changed the batteries and bought a new fob. Any ideas? The car is a 98 v6

And yes, I couldn't believe this, but the chin thing *does* work.

It creeps me out a little...

HOWEVER... it sounds like the car's antenna(?) isn't working. Probably need to investigate that end, if you bought new fob and also new batteries...

Check the antenna? Are you talking about the radio attenna or is there another on for the keyless entry? I'll try the chin thing though.

 

I don't know the keyless entry system, but it *DOES* have an antenna... it may be a goofy one that's imbedded in a box that contains the entire system... I was throwing it out as a possible issue... I wouldn't, unfortunately, have any idea except full replacement on how to fix it or even diagnose it... :shrug:

I would just get you a new one. You can find them on ebay for like 25 bucks and they are easy to program. Much less of a headache.

The "antenna" is in the sjb. Your battery probably needs to me changed in your fob.

 

Woops! Wrong year! Your antenna is in the pats module.

 

Pats module. Nope got no clue what your talking about.

 

"Passive anti theft system" module. You can't change the antenna. Change the battery in your fob. I'm pretty sure that's it.
